Untapped Cities: This shop seems to be stuck in the past. There are old signs that advertise pastries that are no longer sold and graffiti by Columbia students from years ago. Still, the newer pastries are delicious.

Serious Eats: Arab sweet shop with plenty more than baklava. Not all pastries are amazing, but you can make up for it with a scoop of dondurma—stretchy Turkish ice cream virtually unknown in New York.
