The chicken hash — a mixture of cubed chicken, cream, Worcestershire sauce, eggs, butter, and sherry — is a real throwback to a different era. It’s pure, pull-no-punches comfort food. Read more

Wine cellar dining room is a great private space with tour of history. All menu items are solid but nothing shines. Wine pairing and service were excellent.
Just a cool old-school NYC experience. Mark at the bar is great. I liked the Fireside. Lump crabmeat, lamb bolognese, clam chowder, steak frites, all excellent. Baked Alaska just ok but cool visuals.
Restaurant week is the way to do this place... but don't expect superior service. All three courses were great (shrimp arrabbiata pictured) and price can't be beat, but service did suffer a tad 🍤🍷🙃
Prohibition may be over, but the bar remains as intriguing as ever. Pro tip: Take in the large art collection and toys hanging from the ceiling as you sip on a gin rickey. Read more
Ask your waiter about touring the spectacular hidden wine cellar in the basement, which was used to hide booze during Prohibition. It's this place's semi-secret gem.

The Wine Cellar Dinner Menu is reserved for private events in an intimate setting, and the resulting food-gasm is incomparable. Hackleback caviar, butter-poached lobster, sautéed duck breast, oh my!
It may be stuffy, but if old-school, Don Draper Manhattan is your thing, there's nowhere better. And much of the food is still quite good. At lunch, get three courses for $24.
The martini here is an unsung hero of the hip NYC mixology scene—big and dry, like Charles Grodin in drink form, it floats to you in a glass so capacious there ought to be a goldfish swimming in it. Read more
Vegetarians should not shy away from this New York tradition. They have a very nice *on menu* vegie plate that doesn't feel like an afterthought. And thank the universe cocktails are still vegetarian.
One of the supposed birthplaces of the Southside cocktail, made with gin, lime, simple and mint. Also nice if you are craving a classic NY experience and throwback to another era.

We love the decor at 21 Club almost as much as we love the menu. Let us suggest two things. Get dressed up and see "Bethany", then come to the 21 Club Bar!
I absolutely love 21! I feel apart of history sitting where Frank Sinatra once did… plus there is something so romantic about a REAL prohibition speakeasy! Read more
Outstanding food and service. A fantastic and classic New York establishment that embraces the history of this city and the people who live here. And the burger really IS that good.

More for the atmosphere and its legacy than its food. The Prawn for appetizer is good but nothing too special, and the Amish chicken is a little dry and very mediocre
Out of our standard vague anti-Williamsburg bias and our fear of saying the wrong thing vis-a-vis contemporary art, we're going to single out the 21 club as our internal A. List pick here. Read more
The key to power lunching is landing the right table, the left section of the dining room is preferred and the right, known as “Siberia” to it’s regulars, is by no means coveted.
This place is history, and I go there when I visit New York, at least once a year. Frank Sinatra held court at Table 14. Donald Trump sits on the far left. Wall Street was filmed there.
Establishments do not stay in business for 9 plus decades without a formula for success. This historical Manhattan restaurant has the right recipe for special occasions.
