Makhani combo with lentils + mixed vegetables, sweet chai, Bollywood on the screen, taxi drivers yelling at the counter guys in 4 languages. Best all-around food + entertainment value under $10.

Spicy chicken with potatoes & chick peas over rice - quite possibly my favorite dish in NYC. Cheap & flavorful. If you really like spicy, ask for green sauce and peppers.

A victim of its own success. Might have been a legit cheap eats place 5-10 yrs ago but no longer. Where are all the Indian cabbies?! Now it's just TriBeCa moms with their kids. Food was underwhelming
