Large groups file up the stairs to Panna II, waiting for seats at tables lit by strings of Christmas lights. Grüner veltliner and moderately sweet German rieslings would be fine pairings. Read more
The guys outside will battle each other for your business at this BYOB staple. Bargaining pro tip - ask them who will offer you a free appetizer. Winner winner, (curry) chicken dinner.
Loved the chicken tikka musalom -not too spicy with a creamy sauce &the naan bread-served nice &hot. Also try the vegetable samosa..so good.Nice little spot. Cool lights.Friendly staff.BYOB. cash only!
This place is so fun and food is amazing. Festive and fun music. Everyone is really nice too. Chicken tikka masala is amazing. Don't forget the garlic naan and samosas!
Food was great and the birthday entertainment, really good value for money. Just slightly small if there’s a big group of people. Great in small groups
There's 4 Indian restaurants stacked here. They will bargain with you (to come to theirs) so come prepped on knowing what you want for free. Cheap, BYOB and chili lights! (3 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more
Must see for out-of-towners, such a NY experience. The décor makes you feel like you are dining at a disco ball & its impossible to spend more than 20 even if you order soup, appetizer & entree. —Sara
One of the best Indian restaurants in the known universe. BYOB from the market next door with a very respectable beer selection. No reservations, small like a shoebox, and so awesome.
If you go Friday at 8, expect to stand in line outside for a while. Don't let hustlers try to get you to go to the restaurant downstairs in the process. It's not the same.
If you didn't climb UP a flight of stairs to get here, you were duped into going to the wrong place. There's like 2 or 3 at the same location, although all pretty similar
The lights are neat and the overall atmosphere is fun but the food is absolutely horrendous. The samosas were basically knishes, no flavor at all. My paneer dish was burnt and flavorless as well.
"Milon and Panna II have been embroiled in a rivalry for over 20 years that has no end in sight... The feud can be summed up with one simple question: who came up with the idea for the lights?" Read more
It's not about the food. Came w a big group, waited 30mins+ for a table even though we booked; given $40 set menu with no discussion & the food was atrocious. Yet we still had a great time!
BYOB! a great place to go get drunk for cheap. Hit up one of the liquor stores along 1st avenue and head in here with a bunch of friends. Order many orders of chicken pakura, thank me later.
Prepare to be lied to, yelled at, and confused...it's awesome. Best way to order is to tell them what you like/don't like and let your waiter decide your fate.
Just...just go. The food is great, the staff is ridiculous, the lights will keep you amused for ages, and if you're lucky, you might even see a restaurant vs. restaurant brawl.
Workmanlike food but the huge cheaplunch special & over-the-top interior design (chili pepper decorative lights! A moghul tent for a dining room!) makes it all worthwhile.
It's not spacious, and when I went, a party of 14 sat next to my girl and me...lot of server ass bumping into our table. Food wasn't bad though. Good for quick bite
