Amazing food, great atmosphere, friendly and very professional staff. Vine list is very good. Beef is my favorite and the words are not enough to describe the taste of the souffle. Highly recommended.
Dovetail was revamped last summer but the effect is the same: it’s a serene, highly civilized space to enjoy Fraser’s thoughtful cooking. The restaurant offers a variety of dining options. Read more

Amazing dessert, very attentive wait staff, and right down the street from the museum of natural history. Great dinner destination after a long day of dinosaur bones and star gazing.
Wonderful service in a beautiful atmosphere. The 4 course tasting menu is a great value, especially when you consider the little extras that accompany the meal.
Very intimate and romantic setting. Love the food here! Get the cured carrots&salmon appetizer. Would like to come back and try their vegetable tasting. Meyer Lemon Pie for dessert was spot on as well
Delicious creative meal. Did the four course and received at least 3 other treats "for free." Excellent service. Accommodating staff. Yummy food. Would like to try tasting menu.
Amazing... Everything was insane from the arancini bread to the celery palette cleanser and in between. Must have the foie gras, venison, halibut, every vegetable plate and every dessert!! $$$$$$

Quality ingredients are combined to create healthy yet delicious dishes, like the white gazpacho soup or the pumpkin soup. Save room for dessert – we recommend the bittersweet chocolate soufflé.
I have never had such an amazing meal in my entire life. Everything was perfect and creative. The staff were so friendly. I am definitely coming back here in the future.
One of the best restaurants in NYC. John Fraser (the chef) is an amazing up-and-coming chef. Try their tasting menu paired with wine...you wont regret it.
This exquisite restaurant is perfect for a date night, for which we recommend the veal chop for two. Otherwise, treat yourself to the butter poached lobster with mouth watering burgundy truffles.
For our vegetarian guest, Dovetail was the perfect place for a business dinner. We recommend the pumpkin soup. For an appetizer then entrée they are known for their lasagna with carrots and pine nuts.
For an intimate dining experience, private parties can sit downstairs in the cozy sherry cellar, which overlooks the kitchen’s operations. (Another tip: order the brioche bread pudding for dessert.)
This is a great UWS restaurant (yes, there a few). Pricey menu, but the chef came from French Laundry, so the food doesn't disappoint. More romantic than lively.
Perfectly executed food and spot on service makes this restaurant a must visit. Plus pastry chef Vera Tongl’s Banana Pudding with Bacon Brittle is out of this world. -Zac Young, Top Chef Just Desserts
You know how some nice restaurants make you feel like a cheap jerk during restaurant week? Not Dovetail! The service is impeccable, the food delicious! Looking forward to dining here again.
Food and ambience are really excellent. Service had a number of significant hiccups that really surprised me for a Michelin starred restaurant. Will still be back but service did not meet expectations
N-Sider luxury favorite: Dovetail offers an extensive list, 25 to be exact, of Sherries imported from all over the world. The Fino, El Maestro Sierra from Jerez, Spain is one to pair with any meal.
The grub here's classic French, but spiced up w/ high & low American influences, while the décor merges elegant & modern trappings & jeans-friendly service. [NYC&COSRW, Lunch: $24.07 & Dinner: $35]
Awesome restaurant week. Had the rabbit, was amazing, along with the hanger steak/beef cheek lasagna - amazing. The desset was the most amazing. Had the bread pudding, which was simply delicious
