Get a booth facing the bay, order the shaking beef and a singapore sling, go home happy. Don't neglect a Vietnamese coffee for dessert (condensed milk + strong coffee)
Some of the best meals that Corinne and I have had in San Francisco have been here. Just might be worth to extend your stay to lunch or dinner at the Slanted Door! Don't miss the chicken clay pot!
Great place for visitors, as this place has excellent food, right on the Bay. The shaking beef is delicious, but ask your waiter for recommendations - too many to list here.
Charles Phan broke the mold for modern Vietnamese food when he opened the original, and the current incarnation remains the standard-bearer of ingredient-driven Asian cuisine. [Eater 38 Member] Read more
DELICIOUS! I'm so full, it's a wonder my fat fingers can even write this tip. Must orders: cellophane noodles, shaking beef / donuts, snickerdoodle ice cream sandwiches.
One of the best restaurants in SF. For appetizers we ordered the Dumplings, the Yellow Tail sashimi, the Oysters and the Tuna Tartare and the Crispy Vegetarian Imperial Rolls. Unforgetable!
We recently made our first visit to The Slanted Door. We could only get very early reservations for lunch, which worked out just fine. It was quiet, leisurely paced, and our waiter was perfectly atten
Friendly staff and quick serving! Tried the noodle crab - although a decent meal I wasn't quite blown away.. The great views took care of that however.
Cellophane noodles, shrimp spring rolls, oysters and cartelized prawns all rock. The spare rib was just ok compared to the rest - which was outstanding
One of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco. Offers classic and contemporary Vietnamese food. Big high energy room. A must see when in SF. -Rick Tramonto, Top Chef
THE place for Vietnamese. The emphasis is on fresh and organic ingredients. For a quick fix, you can also pick up food to-go at their counter in the Ferry Building marketplace.
The Slanted Door is one of my favorite places to dine in San Francisco. How gorgeous is the view? Love the cellophane noodles with crab. It's a must for tourist & LOCALS.
The move here, one I make on practically every San Francisco visit, is the late lunch c. 215pm when the bar has cleared out and the sunlight shifts. Chicken claypot did the trick this time. Next?
