There is Free wifi by McDonald's in Gate A, right next to A17. It's fast and reliable... But you must endure Loud talking obnoxious people that are eating at the McDonald's.
If you're in the mood for Texas BBQ I highly recommend the real food company in terminal c. I went with the beef brisket, beans and cole slaw. Outstanding.
Gate E16 has an outlet to the left of the gate door. Great for us with laptops that have low batteries. Also if you use Firefox connect to Boingo wifi, it just downloads exe without installing. :-) Read more
Word to the wise: get your laptop out of your bag, take off your shoes and belt, and don't stand there holding up the security line if you want to get on your plane unharmed.
If you need power for your phone or tablet don't expect to find it in terminal E. One or two plugs around the food area, none at E21... Way to go Houston.

Welcome to the worst typography in airport signage: Fake small caps. Embossed letters. Drop shadows. And if you argue that’s for contrast, you wouldn’t set white letters on a murky green background!
IAH is huuuuuuge so wear sneakers or comfortableshoes. Even then, it's one of the nicer hub airports with lots of food options. I recommend terminal C or E for food (over the food court in B).
If you want the quickest exit, tell your arriving partner(s) to get to terminal b that way you all can just leave and get to i45 or beltway8 with ease. d;)
