This place needs a decent bar or restaurant. For a city with as much industry as Houston, the airport is surprisingly feeble. Burgers, pizza, and snack food: that's all that's offered.
If departing out of concourse C and running late, go through the E concourse instead. There is almost never a wait and has saved me today and other days. Once through security take tram or walk to C.
In Emirates a backpack with laptop is not considered a laptop bag but a cabin luggage. It would be better to carry just one bag. Sometimes you get lucky and they check in your 2nd cabin luggage.
When dropping someone, park at the day off site garages for $4 instead of the airportgarage. It saves money and the aggravation of driving in airport traffic.
Compared to others, it doesn't have enough signs to keep you on track. For instance, when you disembark the plane, & you're looking for baggage claim, there's no sign to help you turn left or right
This is a much better home airport than it is a connecting airport or final destination. Pros: affordableparking, destinations. Cons: Rental Car facility distance, making quick connections
If you're stuck here all night prepare. No wifi. The only market opens runs out of food. All the seats have bars so you can't lie down and they have countrymusic blasting all night long.
Best way to check-in for B Gates is to go through Security at the A Terminal, Security line is shorter, you can grab a drink at Starbucks after Security, & then take Inter-Terminal Train to B Gates.

Passenger-laden carts careen through each terminal with speeds normally reserved for jets. Listen for the loud, if half-hearted warning shouts by cart drivers to prevent certain doom while ambling by.
before flying out if I have a morning flight (and enough time), I always have biscuits and gravy with fried chicken at popeyes. Great way to say goodbye to the south!
If you're stuck here for a couple of hours, go find Pappadeaux Seafood restaurant. It's a real restaurant with excellent food, a major step above "Chili's to Go".
Business traveler power move: if you're flying United Express and qualify for TSA precheck, use terminal C and take train over to B to save time. Bonus: better food choices in C than in B.
NO where to charge electronics. The few charging stations had lines of people waiting to charge their phones. No wall outlets because they think the few charging stations are enough?! Ridiculous!
If you're on continental, And check in at terminal C, but your gate is in E, don't walk from C security, take the escalator next to it for the shortcut to E, open from 5a til 11a
Terminal B is 1/2 way through renovation. Get there a tad early because you need to access gates after security through a large gate 30 min prior to boarding. P.S. no Restrooms or sitting area though.
