The departures security line can get a bit heavy and messy at times. Staff are great though
TSA Pre-Check is gold. Also, shortcuts to terminal 5 an 7 are in the left hand lane

If arriving here with a checked bag, it's not so fast. So, go to the Admirals Club and have a drink, then proceed to bag claim at a leisurely pace. Problem solved.
You know it's going to be away when they have someone announcing baggage claim the entire time and she says they won't even start dropping bags from any flight before 30 minutes.
Smiling at the other passengers and at airport usually helps to set a positive tone for your experience at LAX. Try it!

Most of the airport is connected. So if the line is long to be through security is long, you can go to another terminal.
United Level 4 TSA check in above ticket is shortest security line I've ever seen at LAX. Don't forget to remove your flip flops.

Don't be a greenhorn. Nobody likes waiting behind the person at security that has to go through the detector 7 times. Take your metal off!
- Try to avoid the CPK in Terminal 1...not worth the hassle.
Allow plenty of time to get into the airport - esp with the construction

People always get lost, but they shouldn't. If you miss your terminal, just loop around again!
Despite the crumbling interior and exterior, the airport gets the job done.

Keep an eye out for TMZ and their celebrity photogs... They might just lead you to someone famous.
Stop at In N Out Burger on S Sepulveda before your flight FTW.
Have someone picking you up? Tell them to do so at DEPARTURES upstairs. Less traffic and confusion.
Honestly it can be confusing. Ask as many questions as possible
Give yourself plenty of time to get here. Traffic always a cluster!
Try to time arrival at LAX so you walk onto the jet bridge at the gate.

Terminal 1 has evolved into something almost human. Borders on nice.
Please move away from the xray to put on your shoes & belt. That way others can clear the area too! Thanks.
Keep your expectations low: LAX is the air traveler's equivalent of a third-world country. The only thing it needs to complete the gestalt is a few goats roaming the terminal.
Take your time to fly out of LAX it’s in continuous construction!

Buy water from the vending machines. They are $2.00 less than at the News Stands or snack bars. $1.50 vs $3.49.
The self check-in with United is pretty cool but get ready to pay to check in your luggage.

Just like all airports, it's not clearly marked.
