Love this airport one of my favorites - amazingly wellorganized - security check at gates is brilliant and makes travel a joy - Charles de Gaulle and JFK could learn a lot from this airport.
This is the cleanest airport I’ve been in hands down. Don’t forget the check out the food court if it’s not close when you arrive. The bathroom are soooo clean
Go upstairs toward the lounges and follow signs to Mediation Area. There are lounge chairs you can sit in and put your feet up. Also, nicer toilets I'll here near BA lounge and showers.
Check in ur baggage at the counter airlines check in , tell you hv to do tax refund. Bring ur luggage & get stamp around 200m fr gate 27.Back to Airline CI counter to leave ur baggage & Que to tax rf
This is a big airport so going to the baggage hall and arrival hall can take minutes. Also, picking up your baggage can take time because 3 flights share one conveyor belt.
When you landed and feel too tired for public transport i recommend to go upstairs to departures 3 and take a cab from there. The fare price will be 10% off.
Transfers - note that you likely have to go through security again for any connecting flights. But in the Early am they were quite fast and can keep shoes on
Beautifully designed airport. Clean, good food options. It's an enormous airport though. Be careful with having enough time for connections. Customs is efficient.
Next time you arrive to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and want to take a bus, first look at the screens with info right in front of exit doors. You'll save a lot of walking looking for your bus number!
Transportation from Airport with BVG take bus 69 and drop of at Meer En Vaart (15 min from airport) and take tram 1 or 17 to the central station ( Amsterdam central ) 15-20 min
Offers 1 hour free wifi + the famous "folan el folany u r delaying the flight, immediate boarding plz at gate X".. This is perhaps the second largest hub for transit flights i've seen after Heathrow
For lunch buy a freshly baked roll in the bakery section and a warm meatball in the butcher's section in the the Food VillageSupermarket behind Starbucks for one of the best meatball sandwiches.
Big, but extremely wellorganized and accesible. Note that to catch an uber you have to walk towards the hotels, exit the building, and cross the street.
If you are going to Amsterdam take a train, it costs 4.40 euro per direction. Don't forget the third station from the airport is Amsterdam central station.
Beautiful airport. The best way in and out is the train. Cheap and fast. Catch a train to the Schipol station and then take a cab, if wanting other options.
Humble people..even sometimes security hold u in immigration office for a while to those who doenst have any invitation letter..just tell them that ur visit for vacation..hehheh..
If landing here early and there’s a long line to get through passport control, go to the Starbucks or a food shop and the line will be gone by the time you’ve gotten your food.
Instead of doing a couple extra flights to get higher status, get a Privilum pass. It’ll get you lots of the perks of having status with an airline for the cost of a single flight.
If you are in transit and this is your first entry to EU, you will get your passport stamped. There is a fast passport control Lane if your next transit flight is less than an hour.
There are many device charging stations throughout the airport, but they're frequently out of order. Look for the stands with red fire hoses, there's always a working 220v plug on the back.
Not a bad airport to be stuck in. Check out the Yotel for a place to sleep/shower/relax on longer stops. For shorter stays find the "Comfort Seating" area + bring your drinks from the bar.
Very comfortableairport overall. A library? Check. A playground? Check more than once. One hour of free WiFi, very good food. Coffee could be better :-).
