Perfectly run airport and amazing lounges and duty free shopping. If you are traveling this is a great airport for stopover.

It's huge but well organized, clean with free lounges where you can lie down after an exhausting flight while waiting for a transfer. Thumbs up!

Best airport in Europe and one of the best in the world. Shame they are changing to a central security system instead of the individual gate security they have now.
There's a KLM plane at the panorama terrace! You can even go inside this Fokker 100. KLM, the best airline.
Great service, free wifi and tons of places were you can waste some time before taking a flight (library, hotel and even a museum).
Traversing security is a bliss: you don’t need to take out of you hand paffute any laptop, tablet, liquid thanks to the new security scanners.
As airports go, this is one of the more pleasant ones. If you’re actually reading these tips before choosing a connecting airport, let me just suggest: connect via AMS.

If you are hungry go to La Place, which offers the most value for money in my opinion. Airport is great, clear to get around and quite clean👌🏼
If you happen to seal your suitcase padlock key in your suitcase (like a fool *ahem*); there's a wonderful man at Seal n' Go with a huge set of boltcutters down near desks 15-17.
Banu DnzrNovember 1, 2016The dutyfree shops are limited and the airport closes at 11 pm. If you have a transfer flight you will be directed to a very far corner. The staff is friendly and helpful

Annix L.January 25, 2018Water and soft drinks slightly cheaper at "Fine Food" shops (EUR 2-2,50). Also frozen herring and Tony's Chocolonely chocolates. Smoking areas inside bar/restaurants.
Don't get fool, getting to the gate usually takes some time even if you have already passed security. If you are going to the US there will be an extra security check so make sure to have time to spar
It’s one of the nicest airport in EU, plus Free and Fast WiFi 😬
For those who suffered from cancelation of their flight by KLM due to bad weather conditions, don't wait in those endless lines. Call to your local KLM office if it is not Amsterdam! Good luck!

Sal GApril 10, 2019Nice designs and there is a fast line between the gates, but shipping bags takes a long time to arrive mostly. At all it’s a very good airport.
Plus, there is a smoking room between gate H&G, opposite of gate E (next to immigration) gate D in cafe Murphey's and in the Schengen area also at gate D. And you don't have to buy anything!
Big and clean. To get an Uber you need to get across the street and it might be a bit confusing but everyone will help you out.

Make sure you can use the priority lane as it saves you a ton of time. #klm provides this option relatively fast with their frequent flyer program- This is how any airport should be. Modern, quick check in and luggage drop off. Also security to the gates went like a breeze! Love it!

Take the train, located right under the airport. Buy your ticket in the big Schiphol plaza. Quite reliable, 10 minutes to amsterdam central, 17 to Leiden CS, 30 to Den Haag, take Fyra to Rotterdam.
My Destination AmsterdamOctober 11, 2011Why not visit the Rijksmuseum in Schiphol Airport, it's free and located in the passport control area between piers E and F. It's really great and you can see works of art from the Dutch Golden Age.
