- Carlo MFebruary 25, 2013Expect an hour long wait to be seated in this small Ramen shop but its so worth it. Get the Totto extra spicy ramen!
- Ashley 🌵August 26, 2014Definitely worth the wait. Make sure to sign your name before getting in line! Oh yummy.
- Carson WangDecember 27, 2013Straight noodles over the wavy noodles is my recommendation. Char siu is damn good so plan to get extra. Also get an extra order of ramen on the side.
- Maurio FioreAugust 15, 2014Great atmosphere and tied for the best ramen in the city but when the wait is long or it's hot out I suggest Ippudo around the corner as well.
- Dai ShiDecember 9, 2014The extra spicy ramen comes with the spice on the side, so don't be afraid to get it!
- The spicy vegetable ramen w/ seasoned avocado is an absolute treat, esp. on a cold night. Add a bit of the "extreme rayu" for that extra kick. The tuna+avocado appetizer is super flavorful too!
- jon nguyenMay 20, 2013Try the Totto Extra Spicy Ramen - dude...officially best ramen ive had...had to add a soft poached egg bc....why wouldnt u add a poached egg to just ab anything
- kenny tseAugust 16, 2011Remmeber to save room for Kaedama, the extra ball of noodle you can add to your broth for only $2.50! Much better value than ordering appetizers since their noodles are sooooo delicious!
- Stan BashmashnikovNovember 14, 2014Totto goes toe-to-toe with Ippudo for the best Ramen spot in the city. The broth is simply delicious. Watch out for the spice.
- Christian KatzenbachDecember 10, 2012Great spot to have delicious Ramen. Expect a line in the evening, sign up your name on the list and go for a drink around the corner.
- Caroline WuApril 17, 2016Still the best ramen in town. Try to go 15-30 min before it opens, it'll lessen the wait. Room for about 15 diners...
- Robin OldhamOctober 31, 2014There's probably a bit of a wait, but it's worth it... Get your name on the list by the door ASAP so they know you're waiting for a table!
- Christine HaMarch 2, 2016Great chicken based ramen but skip the chicken meat--Uber dry. Miso good too. Tsukemen dipping ramen no Bueno. Can be a long wait. 🍜
- Miguel YupangcoDecember 2, 2014Waited in the rain but it was worth it. Get the Totto Spicy Ramen with Pork and get an egg with it. So good.
- Anastasia BezverkhaAugust 22, 2014Everything is delicious 🍜!! I love that I can get ramen without it having to be pork broth, unlike Ippudo.
- What's Good HereAugust 7, 2014This is one of NYCs best ramen shops. If going for lunch, get there by 11:30 and put your name in the queue.
- Grace S.May 5, 2011Agreed with the suggestion to get the spicy ramen w the spicy oil on the side so u can spice it yourself. If u like black pepper, u will like this ramen! Also try te potato salad w spicy cod roe.
- I love this place! Reminds me of my old haunts in Osaka. Love the extra spicy ramen and the seaweed salad!
- T. R.August 31, 2013Forget the tables! Sit at the bar! Don't forget to order Rayu w/ your noodles. Umami!!!
- Carrie WJanuary 20, 2018Very popular place. Suggest go there right before it opens. The pork ramen was good.
- Emily WilsonJanuary 18, 2016Def not the best ramen in the city. Or even one of the bests. The noodles taste undercooked and aren't chewy enough. The pork buns, however, are pretty good.
- Mingfei YanJuly 18, 2012Ramen is great and it's cheap! Love the avo tuna. But always long line. This place is quite hidden and easy to miss the basement entrance.
- Frank SyOctober 31, 2012Write your name down, go to to the Michelin rated Danji and get a few tapas. Let an hour pass by and return to enjoy your excellent hot bowl of ramen!
- Parker LimMarch 9, 2013It takes about an hour to get through 25 parties on the list. Thats a column + 5 parties o the waiting sheet. Get the mega ramen. Go around the corner for a drink while you wait.
- Elizabeth IrizSeptember 12, 2014Head their solo and skip the wait. You'll be digging into a bowl of tasty ramen before you know it!
- Jess HueyNovember 9, 2015Go at a weird time if you don't want to wait hours; cash only; but the spicy ramen is so good with the special spicy oil
- Liz CargillOctober 18, 2015Very quick serving! The place is sooo small, so quick turnaround is expected. You'll receive the bill half way through your ramen however!
- Joan ParkSeptember 15, 2014The Spicy Ramen broth is the perfect amount of spicy and not too greasy or salty. Unless you like a dry slab of pork stuck to a few lettuce pieces in mayo, skip the pork bun.
- Get the Niku Ramen and add extra spicy sauce. Satisfaction guaranteed from a Ramen lover. Personally prefer Totto over ramen places in Tokyo.
- Eaters HeavenJanuary 30, 2016All the ramen. Better than sister restaurant on 51st, but 51st has less of a wait always! This one is way cooler and more fun.
- VansiMarch 13, 2016The spicy paste is pretty oily and goes directly to your throat. I'd recommend getting it on the side and straining out the oil before putting it in.
- Minji SonAugust 23, 2015Go to the second location on 51st btw 9&10th ave- there are always more availability- 👍
- Pranjal GuptaNovember 30, 2016The best ramen place in NYC for me. Miso Ramen and Pork buns are to die for. :)
- Kathy ChiJuly 15, 2012Great ramen, quick service but the ambiance is not there. So if you like the hole in the wall type of restaurant this is the place for you.
- Totto Spicy Ramen with pork; look for a David or a Liz and say hi; coming alone will usually cut 30 or so minutes off the wait time.
- Mikahla VicinoJanuary 19, 2015Not for groups larger than four. Great positive atmosphere. Incredible ramen.
- KatieAugust 3, 2013Well worth the wait (which can be up to two hours). Service is fast and EVERYTHING on the menu is good.
- drew newellJuly 21, 2012Word to the wise, the place is small and quaint great for couples and if your dining alone. But if you come with children LEAVE THE STROLLER AT HOME !!!!
- Daniel LuptonNovember 10, 2014Mega ramen is fantastic. We thought it was more flavorful than the miso ramen. But everything was great.
- Anu JayasingheNovember 29, 2015They use a chicken broth instead of the usual pork so it's a different taste from usual ramen and very good.
- geekhanApril 23, 2013Maybe there's better in Japan, but this is seriously the best ramen I've ever tasted. PLEASE order the avocado tuna sashimi - freakin awesome
- Greg SolomonJanuary 4, 2014So. Yeah I do prefer ippudo. That said the poached egg delivery is great. And it is among the better ramen I've had.
- Jeff ChaMarch 8, 2015Pretty legit. Worth 15-20 mins wait. No more. But that's just me. Comparatively Ippudo is worth about the same to me. I wouldn't wait 30 mins for either unless desperate.
- gmarco .February 19, 2015The ramen is amazing and extremely comforting in winter after a broadway show :)
- Time Out New YorkSeptember 13, 2010At this small organic noodle-soup joint there are three types of noodles, each paired with a different broth: miso, paitan (creamy chicken) and shoyu (soy-sauce based).
