Security line gets very long & security does not let you go ahead in the line if your flight is currently boarding. Very rude security. Not what you need/want when you just took a red eye flight.

Take a trip with the wheel chair. TO A lines are shorter.
If flying southwest out of terminal A... You only need to be there 45 minutes before your flight TOPS. Quickest security line in NYC
Once they switch off recycled air, don't let the smell worry you. It's not jet fuel, it's Newark (but still might be deadly to inhale).
Get food before you go through the gates. Lack of options once you go through
United Airlines self check kiosks are a massive fail for int'l travel. Budget 30 minutes at checkin
DominicanAbroad.comApril 21, 2014This absolute worst. The staff is a disgusting joke. One (of many) instance: I asked for directions and got howled at by the staff, like an animal's call to mate. Take LGA or JKF if you must.
Flying to Costa Rica? Hope you chose the 7:25 AM direct with Continental. Great service and Security Line 2 is quickest before 5:30 AM!
Looking for kosher food? Small counter/fridge behind Subway in terminal B has kosher sandwiches and salads.
I love this airport. But terminal A is the pits.
I want to be here when they demolish the terminal B concourses.
C McPMarch 1, 2015Typical large international airport. Nothing great. Currency exchange was out of the cash I needed.
Only 40 min by public transportation! Much better airport than JFK.
United lounge over crowded people is searching for seats all over the place ...!!!
Phil DewanApril 6, 2011Typical ghetto american airport, very outdated. Getting to Manhattan via public transportation is a hassle, avoid the AirTrain / NJ Transit, Instead take the #62 bus & transfer to PATH at Newak Penn
If flying Southwest, eat before going through security. There aren't a lot of options in Terminal A.
Second biggest airport in new York. Security goes pretty fast, the duty free is insanely small. Disappointed.

Grace BarrettJanuary 16, 2015Even in an industry where most are awful to some degree, EWR takes the prize for the world's rudest, least pleasant airport. Crap food choices too. Don't fly here if you can possibly avoid it.
They should rename this place Mos Eisley. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy than you do in Newark.
Terminal C is soooooooo much nicer than it used to be.
In terminal A have lunch at Earl of Sandwich once you are through security.
Get you shoes shined for $5 before you get to baggage claim!

Terminal B is the worse airport I’ve seen. 2 restaurants with meter long lined, 2 corner shops and a duty free “line” ... this is so sad.
- You can get a good steak in Terminal C at Gallaghers if you have a long flight.

Baggage claim look at bottom of silver poles to find charger. Some by seats across from belts 1&2
Arthur MitchellJuly 20, 2017The worst airport. Everything is bolted to the floor... Even the bar stools and restuarant chairs. Uncomfortable as hell. You can't get a menu at the bars or restuarant.
