TSA TIP #4 When loading your belongings onto the x-ray belts load them in an order to help expedite at the other end. THINK, (a) suit case first, (b) laptop bags/purse, & (c) your shoe & belts tray.
[PIC] Virgin America moving in May from T3 to T6. Other airlines moving too. Contact your airline and http://www.laxishappening.com/laxonthemove.aspx #LAXontheMOVE
All of the terminals have made big improvements for food/drink options and ambiance. Transportation is still a disaster. Grab and Uber or lyft from the departures level

TSA TIP #5 Once through the x-ray machines take your belongings (trays) off the belts & get re-packed & dressed in the areas designated for this rather than holding up the lines at the x-ray machines.
TSA TIP #1: Before getting to the screening check points clean out your clothing pockets as well as any metals/jewelry etcetera and put them into your carryon bags (or jacket pockets) ahead of time.
If you are flying United, you should join TSA's precheck program first. Allows you to breeze through security as you don't have to remove your shoes, laptop or liquids. Amazing!

Whenever I fly out, I specifically wear my studded booty shorts and lots of massage oil all over my body to cause stress at TSA. Guaranteed enhanced pat down, if you enjoy that sort of thing! ;)
This airport is always under construction and you can easily lose your way back to your terminal if you leave it. However the airport is stocked with all kinds of food in different terminals.
Don’t expect to get anywhere fast. You need to take a shuttle bus (of varying frequencies) to get anywhere upon arrival… whether it’s rideshare, public transport, or rental cars. 👎
Huge! upgraded Tom Bradley Int Terminal is more modern & organized now. Rampang flight cancellations/delays esp during hols. Allow extra time to transfer between terminals
If you decide to skip the body scanner, reenact meg ryan's dining moaning from 'Sleepless in Seattle' while getting the pat down. Keeps things fun & interesting :-)
But e-tickets get in and out ASAP bring print out of confirmation and keep on pushing yikes pay for luggage one time online and save that money so you can focus on other things
LAX is changing for the better but still has long way to go. I've never had too much of a wait for TSA or immigration/customs. The main problem is the traffic getting to it. Avoid T3 and T6.
Make sure you plan enough time when you are in transit! In Terminal 5, I took a walk in the most dreadful empty corridor (which seemed to be a 30 min walk), to get to the baggage claim. 🚶
In true LA fashion, the traffic at the airport can be horrendous so budget that into your timing. Also the terminals here aren't connected so make sure you know which terminal your flight leaves from.

I've been through a number of airports and LAX is by far the worst...limited free Wifi and no outlets. If you have a connection make sure your phones/tablets/laptops are at full battery...or else...
Very big, but passanger friendlyairport, where the airlines shared the terminals, and this makes your life easy. However, not too much DutyFree or food court.
Connections are reasonably accessible and the immigration control is greatly improved with the self service lines. Having said that, it has nothing on the transit hubs in Asia...
You're on Jackie Brown's turf! The opening scene was shot right here. If you're arriving, look for the tiled walls on the walkway to the main terminal & hum Bobby Womack's "Across 110th Street."
