Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)July 3, 2014Why be stressed by the traffic? Wait at the Cell Phone Waiting Lot (W. 96th St by parking lot C) for your passengers to call you when they arrive. Or they can take the "C" Shuttle to meet you there.
Noel LathamFebruary 18, 2017Don't fly with Delta! Especially if the weather is bad in LA. They where super unhelpful, and we were stranded in LAX without food, water, or any other concessions for 6 hours.

When on an escalator, stand on right, walk on left. Put your bag in front of you. You never know when you're blocking someone from the flight they need to catch.

Heres a tip, dont be an asshole. Get your stuff off the belt and MOVE. Domt stand right in the way and put you belt an shoes back on. Thats what the benches are for!

Whether you go to pick up someone or see someone off, drive up the Departures and park in Parking 3/4. People drop off and leave so the route is not crowded compared to arrivals. Just take elevator do

Pro Tip: After you come through security, collect your things and reassemble yourself at the nearby benches. Keep the flow going.
If you're in a rush, the extra $20 to upgrade to business on Southwest is waaaaay worth it. You get to cut the security line, board first & get a free cocktail!
In terminal 2? Head upstairs to the Delta Club and there's some nice seating on the landing.

At the Tom Bradley international terminal (B) there is only 1 small bar after you go through security so if you're looking for food or drink, get it in the main public area.
Joshua Herzig-MarxNovember 18, 2016Terminal 3 is terrible: small, crowded, insufficient security stations, long lines, few amenities, and in desperate need of a revamp. But the dog walk area is a nice treat to get outside in the AM.
If flying virgin, upgrade your seat while checking in. $55 for main cabin select (free food, booze!!!, and movies and you skip security lines) when flying to Seattle. worth it.

Rated one of the most dangerous airports in America. In dire need of updated which they are thankfully. Still is our doorway to the world.
BruceJuly 27, 2013This is by far the dirtiest, smelliest and crappiest airport I have ever been in. The Tri state airport in Huntington Wva is 100% better than this giant port o potty. Get it together LA.
Virgin America and Continental are almost always my airlines, and flights are delayed quite often, so don't be surprised if yours is. Oh, and it gets chaotic in the afternoon.

Get here earlier than you think you need to. Never know how long TSA security will take. Sometimes, the line stretches all the way down the lobby from one end to the other.
If you're flying first class to JFK or international on Delta or AA, don't forget to use the VIP entrances
Copa airlines check-in moved to terminal 3 without saying, but gates are in Tom Bradley where there is no preferred Star Alliance access

Flying delta gates 50-68? You're in luck. Go to lemonade - it's like the whole foods prepared foods section. Delicious!
If you're picking someone up, park in the central lot rather than trying to fight the traffic. It doesn't cost much and will save you a huge headache.

If you are flying out of the Delta Terminal, there may not be any restaurants near your gate.
TO be honest, I have very little good to say about LAX lately. Getting to terminals is horrible, the ride app pickup location is forever away, & you can’t even get a draft beer at the int’l terminal
If landing here close to 5, choose your immigration line wisely, shift changes happen at 5 and it is anything but seamless. You think this is something they would have figured by now.
DomAugust 31, 2014Make sure you get here 2 hours early for your flight. Security takes 15 minutes when you are early and over an hour when you are pressed for time.
For me there's no place like LAX. I'm pretty sure I have yet to see it all but it's very classy.
It is much faster to walk from T2 to T3 than it is to take the shuttle.
When someone next to you complains more than once about the security line, turn around and remind them that there are worse things in life. Like people who complain about trivial things
Terminal 1, Southwest, is now looking good! Lots of new eating options too!

David DerrickMay 29, 2014There is absolutely nothing to do in the international terminal. So...walk back outside to terminal 4...go to the lowest level...find The only 'nice' place to wait for a few hours...Starbucks!

Don't check bags, it takes almost 30-40 minutes to get them! Welcome to L.A! So glad to be back home.
Make sure you give yourself some time on Delta because they have two terminals and have to take a bus between.
If you're based in LA and travel Internationally 2 or more times a year-- sign up for Global Entry and save HOuRS in immigration when you return to the US
The rental car return is usually pretty far from the airport so buffer an hour for traffic between return center and the airport during rush hour!
