Frequent travelers beware! Delta T4 TSA Pre-check is anything but fast. Babies, the elderly, and people who have never flown before all seem to find their way into this line. Leave plenty of time!!
The Delta terminal (terminal 4) is kind of awesome. Shake Shack at gate B20 and seats with outlets, what a concept!

Picking up passengers at JFK? Make a plan so that they give you a call when they've picked up their luggage. Park, at no charge, at the Cell Phone Lot. It's only about 4 minutes from all terminals!
Don't feed the birds. Maybe they'll stop coming INSIDE! (bag claim E) last thing we need at JFK is to roll our bags thru pigeon poo.
David WMay 3, 2014If you are heading to terminal one, and you have time READ THE TIPS THERE! Not a great place to eat, or hang out. Eat before security. Need boarding pass stamped. Some of the airlines have hours.

If you are taking a cab into Manhattan, there is a flat rate of $45 from JFK to any point in Manhattan. Tolls and tip are extra, as are a $0.50 (50 cent) surcharge for using the trunk space.
JFK is incredibly outdated for handicapped or people with heavy luggage. Welcome to NYC - now carry those bags down the steps and walk a mile to baggage claim!

The airport is tolerable if you get here 3 hours before your flight with no sense of rush of the lines will make you lose your mind.

If going to terminal 8 via AirTrain: transfer at terminal 1 to go the opposite direction to save a few minutes

If you find yourself in Terminal 8 (AA) - and a MasterCard wifi hotspot is available - the password is 'pricelessmc'
make sure you know what terminal you have to get to before hand especially after an international flight and a switch through customs its good to scout ahead or ask around
Get here earlier than you think. Also: taxi transfer to La Guardia Airpot is best.
Remember two years ago, I wrote a tip about the pricing? Just get a smartphone, go tether, call your carrier and stop the data plan while you're away. Problem solved, saved $10/mo., get more use.

New Delta Terminal is big on shopping, and zero on TSA flow or gate accessibility. Expect 45 min at 6am to get through security, the walk 1/2 mile to gate
Take your damn PJ pants off, leave your pillow at home and join adulthood.

Taxi for when you're desperate but a bus from manhattan is only $16. Cheaper than $60 for a taxi. And you get to be entertained by all the crazies!
Natalie VMay 8, 2016Takes a long time to get here from Manhattan, but there is a shake shack in terminal 4 so that's a win.
Avoid the long, long taxi line at Delta Terminal 4: take the Airtrain to Terminal 7 & go downstairs to taxi stand for a MUCH shorter wait.
Sun country check in isn't always open, so print your boarding pass at home if you're not arriving close to your take off time.

DuDo's has serious representation in T5, but there is an Illy hidden at gate 18 that serves decent coffee and Balthazar pastries.
Great Hub in USA,Nice and easy to get in and out.
Always nice to have the option of taking the train and air tran directly to the airport. No need to pay an extravagant amount for a cab.
