- Dan KrollAugust 29, 2014As a solo traveler I found it very easy to get there by the airtrain/subway, self-checked in with only carry-on, and the line wasnt too bad even on a long holiday weekend on friday afternoon.
- LIRR to Jamaica Airtrain is a breeze. From Atlantic Terminal it's $6.25 off-peak and takes 15 minutes to arrive at Airtrain. $11.25 total including off peak and Airtrain price. Worth it.
- Restaurants at JFK are above average for airport food-you have a lot to choose from (french,sushi,tapas,pizza and baked by Melissa cupcakes)

- Paul FortJanuary 23, 2017To understand mankind we have to look at that word itself. MANKIND. Basically, it's made up of two separate words "mank" and "ind." What do these mean? It's a mystery and that's why so is mankind.
- Make sure to wear your walking shoes. In terminal 4 the very last gate at B41 is faaaar. Some good shopping and food along the way if you have some extra time
- According to American Airlines 50 minutes before a 6am flight is WAAAAAYY to late. They make you pay more to standby till 5pm. Thank you airlines for making travel so painless and affordable! 😘

- Goutham GaneshMay 25, 2018No Starbucks in Terminal 4. 😣 To switch terminal u can use the Airtrain. But it took me a while to get comfortable as there were no proper directions posted. Luckily they have dedicated help desks.

- There's a second Shake Shack further down in the international terminal that is a lot less crowded than the main one. Less important: the airport gets you other places.
- Go to the Mastercard Lounge in the American Airlines terminal. Free wif, comfy chairs, iPads, and plenty of plugs to charge your devices; just flash your MasterCard at the front desk!

- FlightCenter.comJanuary 3, 2012TSA TIP #4 When loading your belongings onto the x-ray belts load them in an order to help expedite at the other end. THINK, (a) suit case first, (b) laptop bags/purse, & (c) your shoe & belts tray.
- Terminal 5 baggage claim (basement) is open 24/7 with free wifi and 24/7 Dunkin Donuts. Planning to spend the night before an early flight? Go here! All other terminals are closed and barren.
- As with everything in New York, JFK is ALWAYS crowded. Take your time. at least 3 hours prior departure for international flights. and arrivals: at least 1hour in immigration.
- Muji has awesome Japanese import goods like mechanical pencils, fine point gel pens and home products. Worth a look, even if you don't buy anything.
- Nando TiconDecember 12, 2014McDonalds and Starbucks are in the Terminal 1. Just get the Airtrain and in 5 minutes you'll find decent food for decent price. After check in, you'll find more food options.
- Grab a bottle of water before you board so you don't have to wait for the hostess to take your empty cup and you have water whenever you want.

- Welcome to NYC's international airport, where "OMG TOURIST GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY" really should be easy to understand; translated into 56+ languages, including hand gestures outta car windows.
- Check out the T5 rooftop near great 28 if you want to see some green. they even have a wooftop to walk your dog.
- Airtrain to Jamaica and LIRR to Penn station is the way to go, $12 off peak and takes around 30 minutes to get to Manhattan
- Take the LIRR to Penn station or recently open Grand Central Madison! (Protip off peak LIRR CityTicket is only $5)
- From terminal to terminal, you feel like you are at different airports. If all terminals become just like the most recently upgraded one, this is actually a nice airport with AirTrain service

- Buzzing as always. Security queues tends to be longer so keep walking and follow the instructions of the officer to get it through quickly.
- At Delta Terminal 4 all the good food options are at the end - Blue Smoke, Shake Shack and La Brea Bakery for good sandwiches and salads. Near gates 33 and 34.
- Get TSA precheck. It’s worth the extra money if you fly more than 2 times a year.

- If you're in delta terminal 4 in the 30s go past the hilariously 9 dollar ham sandwiches and get a coffee and a burger for under $8 at SHAKE SHACK
- If your plane is leaving from TERMINAL B, take the shuttle from C60. I learned the hard way. Walking to terminal B from C, you're bound to miss your flight. Lol

- If you're not cabbing or Ubering, take the LIRR, it's the fastest and best way to and from the city.
- There are two shake shacks in terminal 4. One in the beginning and one towards the back. Best addition!
