Flat rate for yellow cabs to/from Manhattan is $52.50 + bridge/tunnel + tip. There's a Boingo Wifi - however you need to have a plan. $9.95 monthly (first month $4.95)
LIRR to Jamaica Airtrain is a breeze. From Atlantic Terminal it's $6.25 off-peak and takes 15 minutes to arrive at Airtrain. $11.25 total including off peak and Airtrain price. Worth it.
Flying into terminal 4 with checked baggage? You have just enough time to hustle to Shake Shack and back right as your bags come out. Bonus points if you eat in the taxiline and make everyone jealous
This is a frequent base for the Cosmos' inter- and transcontinental journeys. The rebooted team flew from here to England for their very first trip as a team, in July 2013.
Dedicated as New York International Airport in 1948, the airport was more commonly known as Idlewild Airport until 1963, when it was renamed in memory of J.F. Kennedy, the 35th President of the US.
TSA TIP #3 Remove your laptop(s) and shoes/belts while waiting in line for the x-ray machines and carry them in your hands to be ready for the bins, remember laptops are placed in a bin by itself.
According to American Airlines 50 minutes before a 6am flight is WAAAAAYY to late. They make you pay more to standby till 5pm. Thank you airlines for making travel so painless and affordable! 😘
This is my home airport having logged over 1,000,000 miles on American Airlines it is always a pleasure to return home #AA #JFK. Give yourself plenty of time this is a busy airport
Spend your layover getting a pedicure or back massage at XpresSpa. Afterwards they let you hang out on their massaging recliner til you need to get to your gate.
McDonalds and Starbucks are in the Terminal 1. Just get the Airtrain and in 5 minutes you'll find decent food for decent price. After check in, you'll find more food options.
Go to the Mastercard Lounge in the American Airlines terminal. Free wif, comfy chairs, iPads, and plenty of plugs to charge your devices; just flash your MasterCard at the front desk!
Welcome to NYC's international airport, where "OMG TOURIST GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY" really should be easy to understand; translated into 56+ languages, including hand gestures outta car windows.
Make sure to wear your walking shoes. In terminal 4 the very last gate at B41 is faaaar. Some good shopping and food along the way if you have some extra time
TSA TIP #4 When loading your belongings onto the x-ray belts load them in an order to help expedite at the other end. THINK, (a) suit case first, (b) laptop bags/purse, & (c) your shoe & belts tray.
TSA TIP #5 Once through the x-ray machines take your belongings (trays) off the belts & get re-packed & dressed in the areas designated for this rather than holding up the lines at the x-ray machines.
TSA TIP #1: Before getting to the screening check points clean out your clothing pockets as well as any metals/jewelry etcetera and put them into your carryon bags (or jacket pockets) ahead of time.
The airtrain is expensive but worth it, dont forget to look up your airline on the terminals list. The 'international' or 'domestic flights' terminal rule does not apply to all airlines
No Starbucks in Terminal 4. 😣 To switch terminal u can use the Airtrain. But it took me a while to get comfortable as there were no proper directions posted. Luckily they have dedicated help desks.
Terminal 5 baggage claim (basement) is open 24/7 with free wifi and 24/7 Dunkin Donuts. Planning to spend the night before an early flight? Go here! All other terminals are closed and barren.
At Delta Terminal 4 all the good food options are at the end - Blue Smoke, Shake Shack and La Brea Bakery for good sandwiches and salads. Near gates 33 and 34.
There's a second Shake Shack further down in the international terminal that is a lot less crowded than the main one. Less important: the airport gets you other places.
This little baby saved my day ! However, there is only a few far in between. (Compared to YUL that are everywhere) #all electronic devices for themselves
As with everything in New York, JFK is ALWAYS crowded. Take your time. at least 3 hours prior departure for international flights. and arrivals: at least 1hour in immigration.
If your plane is leaving from TERMINAL B, take the shuttle from C60. I learned the hard way. Walking to terminal B from C, you're bound to miss your flight. Lol
John F. Kennedy International Airport is the primary international airport serving New York City. It is the busiest international air passenger gateway into North America, the 14th-busiest airport in the world, and the sixth-busiest airport in the United States.
