Don't leave here without a Hooker's Sweet Treat to go with your coffee. Relax people, it's a delicious hand dipped caramel. Made locally, of course!- Boom. One of the few really good coffee shops in SF (Coffee Bar is another). Great coffee + great vibe. Almost like Seattle.

3 random things to like: 1. Low toxin coffee (no mold)! 2. Zero attitude from baristas - seriously, you expect some 'tude but you'll find everyone is super friendly; 3. No Pink soap! Real soap!
Head up stairs for the brand new affogato bar featuring Salt and Straw ice cream.
A relative newcomer on the scene, it's making big waves with the technies in SOMA. Not bad - better than Ritual and Four Barrel and on some days as good as or better than Blue Bottle.

great coffee! lots of seating (though it's usually packed), no wifi, but awesome space.
Beautiful space. Bring a camera. Pick up a pound of beans after enjoying a perfect cup of coffee.
The usual laptop crowd stays away because of the lack of Wi-Fi and power plugs, and that's a good thing. This way, the coffee and the surroundings get the attention they deserve.

Get Hooker's sweets here without the actual hookers! (unlike the Hooker's Sweet Treats shop itself, at Hyde & O'Farrell in the skanky Tenderloin).
Nice and quiet early in the morning with lots of open space. Gets busy by late morning with long queues.
