- Eleni M★MOctober 15, 2013Best coffee bar AND roastery at the same time,I've EVER been in my life! Absolutely loved the coffee, the design, the environment and the people!Wish I had designed the place!Bravo to the architect!!!!Upvoted Sep 30
- Their vanilla cold brew is tasty, but any of their brewed coffee options can be made iced too. It's a great afternoon treat. Drink it straight up, no need for milk or sugar.
- Odile RoujolNovember 3, 2015Excellent coffee ! Roasted at Sightglass Coffee. Try the chocolate scone and the organic Apple juice (yummy !). No wifi but cool place to work with your laptop upstairs. Or to meet people
- BommyJanuary 7, 2016Beautiful space with lots of seating/standing room. Pastries are from local bakeries like b. patisserie and piccino cafe. Piccino's ginger scone is small and expensive at $3.50 but yum.
- JoannaMay 15, 2015No. 1 coffee in San Francisco. Excellent flat white (although they call it latte in a smaller cup). Perfect croissants as well. If you are from Melbourne, you will not be disappointed. Expect to queue
- Joe Murphy LibrarianDecember 13, 2015Just about my favorite spot for coffee in SF SOMA. Best iced almond milk latte. Wonderful reading spot overlooking the coffee bar. Excellent creamy roast makes delectable soy/almond milk cappuccino
- Al SNovember 29, 2016Pourovers and espresso drinks here are top notch. Lines move relatively quickly. Best thing about this location might be the spacious working area above the coffee bar. Great, comfortable atmosphere.
- What to Order: All of the pour-over drip coffees are great, but the excellent Guji, Yetatebe is a fresh-crop Ethiopian coffee, so it’s only available for the next few months.
- No WiFi - yay!! Read a book, talk to the person with you or just sit and enjoy your beverage. Nice to not just see a sea of MacBooks. Prices are absolutely reasonable given quality and expert roasting
- I like the espresso con panna which is espresso with vanilla bean whipped cream
- Kaitlin MartineauMarch 6, 2017Ambiance was so modern, industrial, and had a warehouse feel. Great sunlight and quality coffee - sit on the balcony overlooking the daily grind
- Really big fan of the espresso here. Grab a quick cup for $3.25 if you're in a hurry. If you have a walk ahead of you be wary that the cups can get pretty hot.
- They’ve got a loyalty program now! 10th coffee is free. If you really want to maximize your value, get 9 quick cups and then go all out on your custom oat milk double Cortado.
- Awesome industial decor. Warning: almond milk doesn't blend well in iced coffee so if you're getting the iced vanilla brew, you'll start to see the milk and coffee separate in clumps.
- Stephen BarnesApril 7, 2015Sightglass is a little bit out of the way from the downtown area, but the space is giant and full of natural light. They also roast their own beans here in this space.
- Lovely space that always smells amazing because they roast beans all day. For change on a hot day, get a pour-over over ice. Refreshing and delicious.
- Gaia BennettApril 26, 2016These guys know what they're doing. The care in which they roast and prepare the coffee is noticeable upon first sip. I have had a regular drip coffee and a latte and they both blew my mind. 👌
- Kevin PrattJuly 16, 2015Kenya Kangunu Station, AA beans have a smooth flavor in their body. Extra roasting gives a buttery and more mild sheen to the lingering, acidic, and though mild, banana and kiwi fruit tones.
- Aaron CruzJuly 24, 2014A SoMa neighborhood gem. A Kiawamururu, Kenya Pour Over worked great for me. Enjoyed the non-uniform seating while watching the roaster in action. Checkout the unique bathroom sink/mirror setup.
- Mark NorthcottNovember 25, 2016As an Australian looking for good coffee in the US Sightglass allayed all fears. The quality is excellent and they would be among the best in Australia if back home and they make flat whites
- EpicuriousAugust 3, 2014Front and center at Sightglass: a vintage 1961 Probat roaster, lit beatifically from above by the skylights of the three-story warehouse that houses the café and roastery. Read more
- Stanley SasserApril 7, 2020I was on a business trip and checked online to see where to go for breakfast. This coffee shop seemed to be a good choice, and it was! Excellent breakfast, various choices, and fresh ingredients.
- Cory WrightOctober 12, 2014Enjoy great coffee with a wonderful counter flow at this soma location of sightglass. Sit upstairs and watch the magic happen in a atrium-esque coffee warehouse. Taking coffee to the next level.
- The best espresso and cappuccinos in SF. Perfectly sour. Get a seat to watch and smell the beans roasting.
- Robbie SironSeptember 24, 2016I was a little turned off by only having sweetened cold brew, but, the pour over over ice is a decent substitute. And the space and staff make up for it by far
- AdleyOctober 2, 2017What a coffee place! Amazing space with their own roastery! Cold brew with almond milk was really yummie! Yes!
- DensJanuary 16, 2014They don't serve tea here. And if you ask, you will be shamed. I think you can order from the coffee bar upstairs if the line is long (tho I haven't tried this top secret tip yet)
- Megan BryanApril 16, 2020Oh, my! This coffee shop was good to stop over and visit! I came here a couple of weeks ago. The coffee that the waiter served to me was ashy and caramel. I like it so much.
- Marc NgJune 18, 2018I love this place!!! Great coffee, good service. Would be even better if they served a bit of hot food / breakfast / brunch.
- Stuart CoatesNovember 28, 2014I love that there's no outlets or wifi here. You come to work, read, or talk. All while drinking some of the best coffee south of Portland.
- Sara AlShakerMay 18, 2016Make sure to try their affogatos from the affogato bar on the second floor. Columbian espresso over a salted caramel scoop 👌🏻
- Come here to get work done as there is no wi-fi. The mushroom-thyme tart is delicious. You can't go wrong with any coffee choice
- VyomaJuly 25, 2013Coffee here is amazing. The ambience is pretty unique too, you'll see sacks and sacks of stuff- maybe coffee beans. You won't find a menu at the back of the barista either. Love this place.
- Natalia BakerOctober 17, 2014An absolute must do in SF! The coolest space & awesome coffee. No wifi or sockets though so go to meet someone rather than work.
- Nikos AntipordaMarch 29, 2015This place is huge, but seems they still lack seating. Nevertheless, the coffee is superb, the design is organically modern, and the people are uniquely SF hip.
- Fantastic, high-ceilinged space with the roasting going on right in front of you. Try a hand-poured, single-origin drip coffee or a straight up espresso shot.
- The most beautiful cafe in SF. Great coffee (no tea), some pastries, open space, WiFi-free and solid music choices. The design of the space is the highlight. My favorite place to work in SF.
- Great work / gathering space over coffee! There's another bar up in the balcony; can get a little toasty up there though.
- CITY GRITAugust 1, 2014Catch a glimpse of the roasting process while your barista meticulously prepares your order and then settle in for some co-working or in a corner spot to sit and enjoy their handy work.
- Bradley KayMay 28, 2017Another excellent coffee spot with enough empty space to make you wonder how on earth SF cafes make the rent. The cheesy potato puff pastry is fantastic.
- RenadFebruary 16, 2020Amazing coffee roasting place😍. They also have the yummiest raspberry croissant I’ve ever had 🥐🌟👌🏻
- Caitlyn ScheuermanMay 28, 2015Awesome coffee. Strongly recommend the vanilla cold brew with almond milk. And the everything croissant. It's all the best parts of the bagel in a croissant.
- If you're kinda hungry, get the lil ham n cheese n pickles sandwich on brioche bun. It's delightful.
- Tom DingJuly 17, 2016Productivity: 4 stars. Gorgeous internals with 2 floors, first serving coffee, and 2nd for chat/working. Could be crowded at times.
- Pour over, black. Truly some tasty coffee, and because it's light roasted and more naturally sweet you really don't need sugar and certainly no creamer to cover up ugly roasted flavors.
- Natalia GorevaApril 27, 2013If you're a coffee lover you have to come here - such a unique space with industrial warehouse design. Check out the top floor seating to get the view on baristas' magic.
- Ashley MillerMarch 13, 2015I don't think I've ever seen so many Macbooks in one place. Neat space. Vanilla cold brew w/ almond milk is delish, but good luck finding a seat on the weekend. Did I mention techies galore?
- Tanner ChristensenJuly 11, 2015Amazing espresso, try an iced almond latte on a hot day. Sit downstairs where it's not as hot as upstairs.
- Anton ShusterFebruary 16, 2016Affogato Bar is located on the mezzanine. They partnered with Portland's Salt & Straw to offer three rotating ice cream flavors, paired with Sightglass single-origin espresso
- Matt FeyerabendJanuary 12, 2015Excellent coffee! They have a great selection of single origin, blends and rare specialty beans. The design and layout of the space is excellent.
