Well, security is a joke. I have TSA PreCheck and they didn't have that lane open but they kept one lane flowing quickly and built up another so that we were in security for about 45 minutes.
If you have a long flight especially international make sure you're charged up. To few place to plug in. 2012, international airport and they have like 1 outlet per gate if that.
Horrible, no pre-check for terminal A, frequent 'random' selections for additional screening. Bring bread crumbs and make friends with the pigeons that infest this travel gem.
Consider using the preferred line vs TSA pre check. Today I turned back into normal lane. No wait plus I was handed a card to leave my shoes on and metal screen.

If you have a choice, fly JetBlue out of Newark. Security is so much less stressful at Terminal B than Continental at Terminal C. Lines are shorter and everybody is happier. A better start to the day!
Terminal B esp in the 60s gates: poorly outfitted, no water fountains, minimal yet expensive food options, and it generally sucks. Hydrate before security - but at least security moves quickly.
food at the Japanese sushi place terminal B1 was bad. Dun know what to expect or want from airports these days but that plate was $25 and a bottle of Bud was $10
The only airport serving the New York region prior to LGA's construction, and hub for UnitedAirlines. Watch out for rush-hour and high-demand traffic times, Newark could not be any slower.
Getting a cab is weird as shit if you plan to pay with a card... If I wanted to write them a check 1) I would have brought my checkbook 2) I would be an asshole. Plus there is a $6 voucher fee. BS
Get all your 'Jersey' gifts at Newark's Jersey Shop! They promise to have all the salt water taffy and Sopranos memorabilia you never knew you always wanted.
Even if you have elite status for united be prepared to wait to check bags if you go inside- the outside bag check usually has no line for the elite check-in
