Try and eat before you come here. This place will pillage you.
Watch out for the little old man transporting the elderly around shouting "meep, meep" - while hilarious he's super dangerous and will run you over!
Get TSA Pre-check. It will make your traveling experience much smoother.
Uber Pool will take you anywhere in Manhattan for $30.
They decide to clean the hoods of 90% of the restaurants at the same time, so good luck finding dinner if you are hungry at that time.
Take your iPad out of your bag. They claim they can't see through them on the X-ray. It will save you time from them taking it out and rerunning your bag anyway.

I prefer P4 parking, 1st level always available early Monday morning (although always says full you will get a spot) and closest to terminal C
Coming to or from NY Penn Station? TAKE THE TRAIN!! Seriously, it is so easy, don't waste time or money on a cab.

Global Entry (while still fast) is getting bogged down with human checkpoints here. Had to stop at three individual people. Jared BJanuary 15, 2011If you have time and want to sit at the bar and get a hot meal and a drink while watching the game, don't go thru security to your terminal or you will be stuck with candy bars, chips and a pop.
Kids under 12 don't have to go through the backscatter body scanner, they can go through the old school scanner!
Give yourself plenty of time to get through security...or get TSA pre-approved to fly though before flying out of this airport.
Davis SJune 29, 2017Reserve at least 2.5h for international connections to the US. Airport is crowded and slow moving. Trains connecting terminals are stuffed and do not run on time.
Terminal C (by gate C125) has a Juan Valdez kiosk. Best coffee at the airport!
Landing here after vacation is one of the most depressing things ever. Even the flight attendants seem upset. Terminal A is freezing in the summer and an oven in the winter.
Some of the food lines move at a snail's pace. Be prepared of you have a tight connection.

Terminal A is not a place you want to spend a long time hanging around. Unless you enjoy pain.
Do not buy your tea right after security when your gate is 84. While balancing your luggage, you will spill the insane hot tea and burn your hand.
Maddening security lines! They still haven't figured out how to staff appropriately for Friday's volume. Get it together!
Out of the three tri state airports this ranks as number two. Outside the United Terminal, terminals B & C are pitiful. The Airtrain is slow tiny and old. So be sure to allocate the appropriate time
If you use Über, text your driver your EXACT location (terminal, level and door). The GPS on the locates everyone in Terminal B, level 1 by default.

Are you thinking about not paying $80 to get into NYC? Feel like the $16 bus is a good idea? Wrong: 15 minutes is a different concept to them, stop and wait at every stop; take the train. Or walk.
Nick JonesAugust 27, 2016Whilst it is starting to look a little dated, it's a very easy Airport to navigate. Not keen on the bulk pay stations they use though for foods.
