If you're wearing a belt or any kind of metal, put it into your carry on before going through security. It will save you and your patrons so much time. Arrive 2hours early for intl flights!
Bill CurtinJanuary 9, 2023Being premier makes no difference. Being Tsa makes no difference. Being in first class makes no difference. Security lines are a nightmare. Everyone waits in same line for hours all the time.
Definitely bettet than JFK. Flights run on time (usually), great food and bars. But NO free wifi.
Steve DreyerOctober 9, 2011I prefer the extra hour to get to atlantic city airport! Get in get out! Takes about 3 minutes to get through security and then get on the other side and enjoy doing whatever you like to do!
This airport is pretty large and has a lot of great little places to eat once you get inside.

United lounges are being upgraded. Food options getting better all the time. Have someone explain the order/payment tablets when you sit down.
Global entry = TSA pre security clearance = no line = no need to take shoes or jackets off = winning travel benefit = thanks Amex platinum!

Jonathan JowMay 28, 2014It may not be always faster to do curbside checkin (at least for Southwest Airlines) because the employees are slower (also are contract workers). The inside line moves fairly rapidly.

Make sure to arrive early in advance, security lines usually take long (or longer than other airports).

Best by far of the 3 NYC area airports. Cleaner and less depressing than either JFK or LGA.

In terms of efficiency, size and simplicity of process by far the best of the NY airports
For Virgin America flights from the West Coast (SFO), it's so much easier getting to Manhattan from EWR than JFK. Although, it seems that flights to EWR cost a little more.
Have Uber or Lyft pick you up at Departure and not Arrival, for easier travel. Also Covid test available in Terminal B
If you travel on a weekend and are flying United, arrive early. They close the main security gate, so you wait in a long twisty line at the secondary gate.

Terminal C has a way better TSA check in system than Terminal B. TSA pre check is hardly worth in Terminal B.

To find the cell phone lot: follow the signs to the Marriott, and then follow the signs for the cell phone lot
Super easy to get to. Security never has mad rush even on Monday mornings. Simple easy and quick. Love the airport.

Terminal C doesn’t have enough bathrooms but there’s more of a hidden one that is a good bet all the way at the end away from the entrance

VIDecember 10, 2011Some people say its ugly! But its one of the most easiest airports to navigate.. Airtrain and shuttles! I love this airport most of the times!
Still no Pre-check line for security in terminal A, BUT if you ask them and show it on your boarding pass, they'll give you a pass that says "expedited screening" that lets you keep shoes on
You'll get to where you're going eventually. Highly recommend not flying in on Friday night and don't check a bag if to can avoid it.- Terminal B international gate entry line is always so long and TSA precheck has been unavailable all 3 times I’ve come here. Decent restaurants and other food options are also very limited at EWR

Take a Xanax before flying out of here & give yourself WAY more time than you think you need. They put the snail in "snail's pace" around here.
Get use to this view. Pulling up to a gate and no ground personnel. Newark airport is the poorest run airport in North America
Get the AirTrain at Penny Station Newark and enjoy your ride on the cheapest way to get to the EWR.
