Use the American Shuttle Service, it's cheap and fast! Pay accordingly to the zipcode you are goung to! And they accept Credit Cards!!

Allot an extra 30 mins if you plan to pickup/return a car to take the MIA mover
It's huge and a bit complicated to get it. Worst thing is to find your car at parking. But is new and clean.

Huge airport, with a lot of food options. Keep in mind that most gates you will have to take a sky train to. Give yourself plenty of time and avoid going anywhere near the airport during rush hour!!!
Large airport that is nice to fly out of because of food options and number of flights. Terminal D and E are connected airs ideal but aren't connected in the same manner to other terminals.

Louise BradshawJanuary 8, 2014Neither Starbucks nor Au Bon Pain in terminal D serve hot breakfast. But Manchu Wok at gate D44 does, and they are very generous with the crispy bacon.
If you're flying Virgin Atlantic, there is not a lounge for them. But you can use the Delta lounge at Concourse H nearby.

Global Entry is a must. So big, so heavily trafficked and so many gate changes. Awful.
A lot of movies have been filmed here. Many of those movies are about the mob or drug dealers, go figure. Welcome to Miami!

Mana IonescuOctober 25, 2010If you self check in you may get very little guidance on luggage drop off. Give yourself plenty of time and demand clear guidance so you don't end up on a wild goose chase, luggage in tow.
Don't fear the short layover, the sky rail is really efficient, albeit absolutely packed.
