If the person you are picking up is delayed turn around in the "return to terminal" lane and wait in the bend off to the right while listening to good music or playing phone games.
Not the best AirPort I’ve ever been. Foodcourt right after security is just about it. A few tax-free shops, so not many things to kill the time. Staff at the foodcourt and shops seemed bored.
The D terminal in Miami Airport is massive, now that the construction is finished. It has 60 gates, so to get to your destination faster, use the new Miami Skytrain.
Metrorail to airport from downtown was pretty good: convenient (big wheeled bag was fine, with escalators, no stairs) and cheap ($2!) -- but not fast. Just under an hour, from office door to terminal.
This was the longest walk to passport control and what seems to be the longest line I've ever seen. Green Card holders go to the same line as visitors. If no Global Entry or no citizen - get ready...
I was in the military for 10 years and have been to a LOT of airports and this has got to be the dirtiest most outdated airport I've ever been to. I bet the Havana airport is in better condition.
Please DONT travel with AA: Most ilogical terminal, domestic check-in on oposite side of actual check point for domestic gates. In almost 5 yrs in the US, AA has never departed on time.
Here's a tip MIA... Get monitors at your gates it's not just tourists that fly into this outdated airport...And what's with the kiosk check in at delta. Get more efficient w/ bag drop process would ya
Someone should teach manners to customs , we are tourists and we come to spend our money , safety is necesary but understanding that people travel for lots of hours and we dont spend 2 h making a cue
Never plan on getting there early for your flight, delays are the norm here obviously. To top it off they will have you standing waiting due to the other delayed groups of people. No seats!
