I'm not a big fan of MIA as its not that easy to get around if you have to switch airlines. Good airport to come through if you are heading to South America but for domestic travel go FT Lauderdale

Gate E. No line for TSA precheck. But line for Clear. If you have PSA precheck, they hand you blue card after going thru security so you don’t have to take off shoes.

For international flights use curb side check-in. You get bags checked faster, get your boarding pass, and you can head right to the security check, which is a guaranteed long line.

You are in Miami! Yay. Remember to leave extra time on your return to the airport. The main way out of the keys was closed (fire maybe) so we has to take the long and slow way.

Worse airport in the USA. The soft carpeting makes wheeling luggage feel like you’re dragging it through sand, and bathroom stalls are barely big enough to accommodate a suitcase and close the door.

This airport goes on for days! It last trams, levels, gates like you wouldn't believe. Old people get lost here or lose their life just walking around. "I've fallen, and I can't get up!"

Some UAL flights leave from concourse H now, though mainly Delta gates. Nicer than the regular UAL gates.

Do yourself a favor and order a wine flight (or two) at Beaudevin in Terminal D (near gate 24). Also they have a great cheese plate and other light apps.

Curb side check in: with American Airlines they won't give you boarding pass if you tell them that you still have to bring back rental. Lie, or have the car returned prior. :-)

Ask for directions--the signage makes no sense and you can easily walk in circles if you don't get some expert help from airport staff. #MIAisAwful

Taxi to/from Mia Beach is a fixed rate of $32. Takes 10 minutes from SoBe, if no traffic. If on a budget, & have the time, the MIA Flyer (150 line) bus runs twice an hour, takes 45 minutes, $2.25.

No free wifi... All the restaurants, cafes, shops, BATHROOMS closed at 11 pm... Prepare your spanish, not english! The best thing is that you can't get lost and the trains come very fast.

To avoid the Concourse D international security nightmare, take a stroll down to Concourse E. The line is shorter and the concourses connect behind security.

here is a tip, find the thieves from TSA or AMERICAN AIRLINES that lied to my aunt making her check in carry on bags while about to board. 4 iPhone5s that they had in those carry on bags were stolen!

Bring a coat and a pillow. This airport is super cold and there is a severe lack of chairs and walking space. This is my least favorite airport. The experience should be so much better than it is.
