- I'm not a big fan of MIA as its not that easy to get around if you have to switch airlines. Good airport to come through if you are heading to South America but for domestic travel go FT Lauderdale
- Gate E. No line for TSA precheck. But line for Clear. If you have PSA precheck, they hand you blue card after going thru security so you don’t have to take off shoes.
- The BEST food is at La Carreta near gate D37. Hmmmm it niiiiice!!!!! Breakfast lunch or dinner. Can't go wrong.
- Dean RussellJune 18, 2012For international flights use curb side check-in. You get bags checked faster, get your boarding pass, and you can head right to the security check, which is a guaranteed long line.
- You are in Miami! Yay. Remember to leave extra time on your return to the airport. The main way out of the keys was closed (fire maybe) so we has to take the long and slow way.
- Worse airport in the USA. The soft carpeting makes wheeling luggage feel like you’re dragging it through sand, and bathroom stalls are barely big enough to accommodate a suitcase and close the door.
- Bee PMarch 31, 2017Check out the star destroyer looking terminal from the departures food court. Someone was a SW fan!
- Haley CorenswetNovember 15, 2013Look for the Miami children cart if you have a layover! They had games and stories that made our 2 hour wait fly by! Thank you!
- Courtney WilliamsJune 26, 2012When in MIA please visit www.miamishoresoptical.com 9440 NE 129th St Miami Shores, for the best in sunglasses. Don't forget you are in the sunshine state, so protect your eyes.
- This airport goes on for days! It last trams, levels, gates like you wouldn't believe. Old people get lost here or lose their life just walking around. "I've fallen, and I can't get up!"
- Marc SJune 7, 2018Some UAL flights leave from concourse H now, though mainly Delta gates. Nicer than the regular UAL gates.
- Jess BarronMarch 12, 2012Do yourself a favor and order a wine flight (or two) at Beaudevin in Terminal D (near gate 24). Also they have a great cheese plate and other light apps.
- KarolinaMay 19, 2013Curb side check in: with American Airlines they won't give you boarding pass if you tell them that you still have to bring back rental. Lie, or have the car returned prior. :-)
- Ask for directions--the signage makes no sense and you can easily walk in circles if you don't get some expert help from airport staff. #MIAisAwful
- Tuee ChanthavongOctober 13, 2014Love the architecture and the ambiance here. Feels very international. Lots of good food choices.
- NinaFebruary 6, 2013Beautiful and easy to navigate! The mover train makes renting a car so simple! Why can't the Philadelphia airport be this clean and inviting?
- Taxi to/from Mia Beach is a fixed rate of $32. Takes 10 minutes from SoBe, if no traffic. If on a budget, & have the time, the MIA Flyer (150 line) bus runs twice an hour, takes 45 minutes, $2.25.
- Courtney WilliamsJune 26, 2012When in MIA please visit www.miamishoresopical.com 9440 NE 129th St Miami Shores, for the best in sunglasses. Don't forget you are in the sunshine state, so protect your eyes.
- Denisa TodereanAugust 30, 2013No free wifi... All the restaurants, cafes, shops, BATHROOMS closed at 11 pm... Prepare your spanish, not english! The best thing is that you can't get lost and the trains come very fast.
- Burger & Beer SobeApril 30, 2014Headed to South Beach? Drop in and have the #bestburgerintown! 1766 Bay Road from Sun-Thurs: 11:30am - 12am Fri & Sat: 11:30am-2am.
- RichardJanuary 25, 2017Amex Centurion Club is a phenomenal place to wait for a flight. Worth the price of the Platinum Card annual fee.
- Phil ChristensenApril 2, 2015If you are going to the car rental center with checked luggage, RENT A SMARTECART. It can be a very, very long walk!
- This is my life, departures, arrives, I love the MIA! Come back soon👍
- Jennifer MondelloSeptember 9, 2014The most frustrating airport in the USA if you don't speak fluent Spanish. I have an easier time communicating in Central America than I do here. I DREAD it.
- Oasis Intl Realty GroupJuly 30, 2012Welcome to Miami - Bienvenido a Miami!!! Hope you enjoy your stay :) if you are looking to purchase a property or just to rent a place while you are here make sure to check
www.oasisrealtymiami.com - Scott GellmanSeptember 5, 2014when picking someone up there are always places that there is no one to tell you to move. You can sit in your car for a while!
- CC ChenJune 9, 2012AA treats me pretty well. We landed on time, crews are friendly; Miami airport is fine too. Had a glass of Pinot and a piece of caramel cake. Awesome!
- Half the moving walk ways are in disrepair. They are narrow anyways and hard to use with bags.
- Lots of options and plenty of Admirals Clubs. MIA is a good airport to get in and out of.
- ᴡ SantosJanuary 4, 2016You can bring authentic Cuban pastries from Versailles if you stop at the shop
- A big airport! Allow enough time to retrieve your rental car as it is a hike and tram ride away from the terminals!
- This airport is HUGE so give yourself ample time to get through security and to your gate
- When picking up someone, don't park unless you absolutely must. Use the cell phone lot.
- Hon. Diallo Rabain JP, MPJuly 21, 2013American Airlines Admiral Lounge in Terminal D is one of the best I've visited! There are 2 in the terminal and both are equally as good.
- Tobias RoganJanuary 12, 2011I love walking. If I hear another person complain that you have to walk "another 2 miles" then I'm going to call them out on it, so what?!?!!!! Get your lazy ass up and walk. It's healthy to walk!!!!!
- AmmaroDecember 20, 2013If you're coming in/out of Terminals D or E, use the airtrain for faster moving around, otherwise be ready for quite a walk!
- If you’re flying AA get ready to do your walking routine to get into rental car building!
- Get there hours earlier, roam around and you will meet the most beautiful girls who are bored waiting for their planes.
- Great food choices here and priced good. Not many gluten free options. Well run airport.
- Justin LisenbySeptember 16Huge airport. Not as well laid out as DFW or ATL but still had a God experience.
- AndrewDecember 27, 2014Like queuing? You'll love it here. Queue 1 for the automated passport machine. Queue 2 for a real person grilling. Queue 3 to leave the baggage claim! Ouch.
- If you are flying American, sometimes it’s better to go through security at Checkpoint 4. Usually it’s less crowded than the other security lines
- Much easier to fly out of here on any other airline but American. Look for cafe verseille for great coffee and pastries.
- Miami New TimesJanuary 14, 2013Welcome to Miami! ¡Bienvenidos a Miami! Hungry for some authentic Cuban food or looking to party until the break of dawn? Let www.miaminewtimes.com be your guide.
- To avoid the Concourse D international security nightmare, take a stroll down to Concourse E. The line is shorter and the concourses connect behind security.
- Leonardo SalasDecember 21, 2012here is a tip, find the thieves from TSA or AMERICAN AIRLINES that lied to my aunt making her check in carry on bags while about to board. 4 iPhone5s that they had in those carry on bags were stolen!
- Sheri PriceOctober 24, 2013Unlike many others who posted tips, we had no issues. VERY friendly and helpful staff at US Airways. Security checkpoint was smooth and efficient.
- M.Y. G.August 14, 2017One of my favorite airports in the world. Something about it, makes me feel at home.
- Bring a coat and a pillow. This airport is super cold and there is a severe lack of chairs and walking space. This is my least favorite airport. The experience should be so much better than it is.
