What a drab airport...not a good experience if it's your first time in the UK. Fly to Heathrow it's so much more convenient.
Miserable place. Charging for everything but lacking basics like seating and air.
Ian JefferyMay 2, 2013AVOID - Quite possibly the worst airport in London. Arrived 1hr 15m before flight at long stay car park - missed the flight! Poor signage, the place is stuck in a 1960s time warp when it was built.
Behind security there is Real Food. If there is any food at all. All sold out except a crappy dry piece of chicken my cat would abandon. The place itself is a cafeteria look from the 50s. Avoid

Crew discounts at all food courts. Also for visiting crew
Everyone goes to WH Smith just after security to buy water. Don't! Carry on into the concourse and go to Boots. Cheaper and shorter queues.

Worst airport, security staff tried steal my laptop &ipad but failed, then they dissapeared new person showed up and the stuff magically re appeared keep ur eye out they have a nice racket over here

30 mins free parking at the mid stay car park (on right as you approach terminal by car). wait here while your incoming passengers negotiate baggage reclaim.
Jason HirstJuly 8, 2016EVERY time I travel from this airport I'm reminded how awful it is. The ONLY place I know to charge for a plastic bag (£1 for 2), roadworks around the place, long walks from check-in to gate. Awful.
This airport is a shed with airplanes attached. Absolutely no reason to spend longer than you need too here. Hoping for better once renovations have been completed.

Use your chip passport for a quick , automated border check - and go ahead the queue.
Lidia VorontsovaJune 27, 2014If you are flying wizzair, only bring carry on luggage or arrive 4 hours early. The queue for the check in hasn't moved at all in 30mins.
The airport is under constructions again, always plan at least 3 hours to get to this airport!

NatiDecember 31, 2013£3 for 1 hr of wifi. No thanks. Theyve also gone out of their way to not provide charging outlets. You can find outlets in "the real food company" which we supported by making a purchase.
