If you're looking for a power socket go to the hallway towards the higher gate #s (to the left) - the 2nd bench (as you round the corner) has a socket on the wall next to the far right seat
The airport that takes the joy out of any trip. Crowded and bare. The only thing that could keep you busy while waiting for your flight is the cafe in the middle. There's also boots and pret manger.
When an airport lets you buy express lane passes to get through security, you know they have serious queue problems! Worth the £3 pp to avoid said queues. Still a rip off that you have to do that!
Very well organised, cleanAirport. I would suggest to come way ahead of the flight as going through the security takes time. Good selection of shops before you reach the outbound gates.
Best £3 I ever spent on the priority check in. They have little kiosks around the ground floor. Even if it seems empty believe me it will be busy at the check in so break the bank and spend £3.
I’ve been going here since before i could walk and i can say with much pride that I absolutely love it here. The atmosphere, the airlines.. everything. I would definitely recommend this place!
Landed at Luton for the first time yesterday and found it a very straightforward simple airport to navigate generally.. I had booked a bus transfer to London for just 9 euro and it was all really easy
Parked with my 8 months pregnant wife to drop off a friend. Car was towed away, with the hand break on, car alarm went on. YOUR SIGNS DON’T SAY I’VE TO ATTEND MY CAR FOR THE 15 MIN I'M PAYING FOR!
Much improved since a redesign, can exit and reenter security (for transfer) in 30mins at 9am Sat (not busy). Limited seating though, found sockets in The Smithfield pub airside.
Worst airport around London. You have to take a bus if you are taking a train or you have to be stuck in traffic on silly roundabouts if you are driving in. Always overcrowded with queues everywhere.
Bring a gas mask for massive cloud of 2nd hand cigarette smoke you walk into when you leave the terminal building. Great place to put smoking area! Welcome to the uk ..fancy some cancer?
Short term parking has very tight parking spaces at the moment and there are lots of dead ends while the change over to new parking . Mid term may be best unless you like tricky parking
The fastest security check experience of the last 5 years. My baggage slid through without them caring about anything in it. It's convenient albeit a bit concerning. 😂
The worst airport I have ever been. Horrible service and conditions. Also wizzair can ask you to pay extra £35 for your "large luggage" even if you always fly with it for free. Have fun )
It was about time they opened a restaurant other than Frankie and Bennie's where holidays always started with crappy service and indigestion. You can now choose between Wasabi and Bella Italia.
If you don't need to use Luton airport - don't - it is the most inefficient airport any where in the world - and believe me I've seen a few - access to the airport is a joke and wait till your inside
Feels like an old pig pen. And reaching the city is not so convenient. Need to take a bus to the train station and pay too much for the ride to Kings Cross.
When booking a train ticket to/from the airport, choose "Luton Airport" - not Luton Airport Parkway. The latter doesn't include fee for shuttle bus service.
Even if you're an addicted to the caffeine, I'd never advice you to ask for a "massimo" capuccino at "Costa" cafe. It's far bigger than a big açaí mug that we brazilian use to buy.
Used this airport several times now. It’s my favourite one. Not too big, easy to get around, lots of shops and food/drink choices. Easily accessible terminals :)
London's worst airport. Summer peak footfall with walking routes cluttered with seating. No dedicated lane for shuttle buses which get clogged in the regular traffic just to get out of the airport.
Far better since the renovations finished. Still perfectly serviceable to fly from, but recommend another airport for the return leg if arriving late. Relying on the station shuttle bus is risky!
If you need to wait a while (not in the departure lounge), there are a few padded seats in the arrivals section, right next to the Onward Travel Centre. All other seats have a cold, hard metal base.
Great place to fly from but we had a bad experience with staff. They insisted that I couldn't aboard the planedressed as a French child's favourite spoon. In the end, I had to walk
I fell asleep in the car on the way here. When I woke up, I thought we'd been in a horrific car crash and I was in hell. Checked the signs, nope Luton Airport. If you can - go somewhere else.
Imagine a shopping centre on Boxing Day... this is how busy Luton is in the summer. My mistake for booking a flight departing from here, will not do it again.
Absolutely shambolic airport. The worst organisation you’ll ever see. Border Control are a joke, expect to queue for hours to get through passport control. Then it’s a 90 min drive to London! Rubbish.
Rather than extortionate prices for overnight accomodation, why not try airbnb.com. Search for Luton airport and there's a stack of low cost good quality places to stay, many offer airport transfers
London Luton Airport offers both scheduled and charter flights to a wide range of European and UK destinations. Home to Monarch Airlines and easyJet, with enhanced airport shops and passenger services.
