Good at departures! Awful at arrivals - expect to be bussed from your plane, spend 20 minutes on travelators and shuttles to get to the under served, weekend closure hit, train station
I kind of like to see Airports as nice places to say good bye or give hugs to your people after a long trip....in this one, no hugs, no good-byes, no nice...depressing
Eventhough i kinda hate this airport because its far from my house, its easier to get around because of how small it is, Book your train tickets ahead of time FYI this airport its outside of London
Nothing special compared to LHR. Conveniently located (30 min out of Victoria with Gatwick Express), extensive duty free (24/7) and decent amount of food venues.
Not really a beautiful airport, but the most practical for London after LHR's new terminal. Use Southern trains with travelcard 1-6 + rail extension (<15 pounds for tube, bus + travel to Victoria).
Security saw a Harry Potter wand in our bag on a rentgen machine, thought it was a 35cm knife and instead of the wand itself inspected all dirty panties and other stuff in a bag! Idiots!
Witness the streets of London as they transform into a colourful burst of feathers, glitter, myriad swaying hips and deep Caribbean beats, only at the Notting HillCarnival on 28th and 29th August.
North Terminals under renovation. Better to reach in time for a morning flight rather than planning to be at the airport all night. South Terminal has some eateries and some crowd.
You may carry enough baby milk or baby food for your journey in your hand luggage. However, you should pack the rest in your checked-in baggage. Read more
