- I just love the driverless shuttle train between North and South Terminals.
- Zoe BloggAugust 5, 2013Careful of travellers with moustaches, stare too long and you will miss your flight!
- Erin PonsonbyFebruary 28, 2015Don't forget, if you have a layover in London, even if coming from another euro state, you'll have to go through immigration and security before your next flight!
- If you have a connecting flight and you find your options are international connections, baggage claim, or exit, choose international connections, regardless of where you are flying next.
- My fave airport in London, though plan some time extra to go the terminal as the airport is really wide
- Simon EarlAugust 30, 2014The Priority Pass Lounge at No 1 in the North Terminal is probably the best lounge if you have multiple people in your party
- Ryan HoytDecember 17, 2014Wear a rubber belt and you don't have to remove shoes or belt. Also, don't let them weigh your carry-on if it's overweight ;)
- Haluk. Ü.October 22, 2017The water fountain is in the first floor of the departure just before the toilets!
- The round structure in the south terminal was the first passenger terminal ever built! The round shape allows passengers to quickly board the plane when leaving the terminal.
- Rafael MarinFebruary 19, 2015It's a nice airport. If you're taking the train to London, use the Gatwick express, specially if you're coming back to the airport and cannot afford any delays of the standard service.
- Dennis Z.December 5, 2016Get the train (not the express one) to get in the city center. Best way to reach London
- If you've got a contactless debit or credit card you can skip the train ticket queue and just tap into the barriers and out at your destination.
- Mark LeeJanuary 29, 2020Gate 10 South .. after separate boarding group lanes you all end up in one seating area. Let’s see what happens with actual boarding.
- Gateway to London! Friendly staff fast security and on the motorways always prefer this to Heathrow
- Sonny @ NW2LJanuary 17, 2013Ask the guys in striped shirts where to check in as some genius thought it handy to take off check in desk locations for flights. Now done by Airline.
- Mike HackettMarch 18, 2013Grab the train to Brighton - 30 minutes away for an amazing stroll on the beach/pier and an afternoon if shopping! Magic!
- North terminal check in level you can go out on to the outside terrace for a cigarette before going through security, it's the last chance once you go into the departure lounge there is no smoking.
- A relatively nice airport, but with the lack of a good free WiFi network doesn't sit anywhere near the top of international airports in my mind.
- Lewis SmithJune 25, 2017In the south terminal they don't open the door to check-in zone B until about 2 hours before the departure of the first flight so just wait by the doors if you're early
- Don't want to walk miles for a cigarette in the South Terminal? Go down the stairs by the easyJet ticket desk and you'll find a designated smoking area just outside.
- Mark LeeNovember 12, 2014British Airways Business Class Lounge gives great airport views, good selection of drinks and tasty snacks
- If you're flying with Virgin, then go to the lounge / clubhouse and pay £45 to use the lounge, its the only way to start your travels, and get there early too! :-)
- Don't think south terminal has water fountains but north definitely does. Bring a reusable bottle with you;)
- Luison C. (SU1)April 30, 2013The wi-fi is kind of free, just have to give a name and a e-mail for have an hour free connection, but they don't check them. I just invented three of them and i got two hours connection
- Fatma SajwaniMarch 21, 2015I prefer this airport than Heathrow, not busy at all. Queues are short and VAT refund is fast. The downturn, no variety in duty free shops and no brands.
- Ben DunnAugust 11, 2019Your typical stag/hen airport experience. On a plus side Pret croissants are usually fresh out the oven!
- South Terminal Duty Free twists and turns for what seems like a Km from security to departure gates. Blindfold little children or partners who get distracted by Calvin Kline perfumes.
- Underrated. Trains from Victoria take a mere 25/30 minutes max and, for London, that is a massive plus
- Make sure to buy your Gatwick Express ticket on line before arriving as the queues are huge if you have to buy in the station.
- Meg HanFebruary 28, 2015Go to jaime's on the second floor departures, awesome salads REAL, good coffee and hot cheap breakfast baps!
- Gatwick AirportFebruary 8, 2012Our shuttle trains run every few minutes 24 hours a day and the journey takes just two minutes. The service is free to users. Read more
- Everyone I met working for or at Gatwick this last trip was exceptionally lovely! Heathrow better step up their game
- Ashley YeoJune 30, 2019Nice range of shops and eateries after security at North Terminal. However it’s a very long walk to the gate if you’re taking Emirates.
- Alex CurielOctober 20, 2019London’s and the UK’s second busiest airport. Second busiest single-runway airport in the world after Mumbai. Composed of two terminals
- Rebecca Coker-AdelekeNovember 7, 2014No1 lounge at South Terminal is great for a swift G&T and a relaxing sit down with free wifi
- Zeynep Ozturk OzyerJuly 23, 2017I really like this airport because it is easy to check-in and pass through all security checks.
- Yodit TesfayeMay 29, 2019Easy jet fly from the north terminal, so you need to factor in the shuttle from south terminal - it’s quick but still!
- Michael HoldsworthJuly 4, 2015Well organised, friendly staff and check in/security were a doddle. Best London airport I've used.
- Great Check-in system, scanning bar codes to go through to security. Lots of security stands means you rarely queue. Love it, will fly from Gatwick more often!
- Ivan KudryavtsevAugust 29, 2014Very cosy, "hand-made" airport, freshly designed and compact. Fast security, tasty food.
- Visit TuscanyFebruary 1, 2011Did you know that there's a direct flight from Gatwick to Pisa in Tuscany? How about a vacation surrounded by the peaceful Tuscan hills and a glass of Chianti in your hand?
- Peter ChristiansonAugust 8, 2016Take note of which terminal you're in. If it's North, a lot an extra 15-20 minutes to get to your gate.
- Michael Fox-RabinovitzSeptember 8, 2016Well laid out and maintained airport, huge walk through duty free, pleasant travel experience
- Niraj AlokJune 9, 2013Don't take the first capital connect train back to London. Less frequent and doesn't stop at London bridge sometimes. Southern to Victoria is more frequent and same time as Gatwick express.
- Mark LeeJanuary 29, 2020Gate 10 south terminal ... nominally boarding by group but as all groups are in lounge together and not enforced, be ready near the door .. to right after small row of seats against wall.
- A great selection of planes, and those gates man... Beautiful.
