In the C terminal Potbelly at Gate C1 is not usually crowded and nice staff.

You're lucky if your flight leaves from Concourse B. A, C, and D are simply the most depressing environments of any airport.

Never underestimate the time it takes to get thru Security. It could be 20 or 2 hours. You just never know.
United terminal becomes a zoo at about 2pm. All the international flights begin arriving, and ppl connect to domestic flights. Terminal way too small to handle the large amount of pax
Access to a lounge is the key to survive those long connections.
Give yourself plenty of time: gates are far far away from the main terminal!
Can't believe in the nation's capital airport you still have to use a "bus" to get to the terminal.

if you want ice cream the only place in terminals c and d is potbelly near c2!

Fly United! Spend the entire day waiting for your delayed flight!
