I just booked for the first time through #Etihadairways came to checkin my bagage only to be told that I should've checked in before. The flight is fully booked I might wait until the next@11 pm!!
You might find it complex to actually find the taxi stands - after you exit arrivals turn left and take the lift/escalator down and straight through the tunnel. There you go!
Be aware that there is a big security line before you can even proceed to the checkin counters. Don't even think about using your phone near immigration/security if you want to leave on time.
Deserts are approx 25-35 dirhams regardless of where you are buying. Indian food is 40 - ish per dish. Pizza slice is 25 riyals. Burger King is the cheapest
This airport is chaotic. Be prepared for long walks ( unless you are very lucky). And the Etihad Business lounge is a power outletdesert, if you wish to use your laptop.
distance from ur arrival gate to ur departure can be quite longway. if u r like 2 hrs away to next flight, better start going to deprtr. gate and do last minute shopping or coffe around it.
Etihad lounge has moved to gate 35. Horrific lighting and terrible food so head straight to the Six Senses spa. Shower, massage will compensate for the asylum chic lighting style.
The toilets here tend to get pretty crowded and there's a long queue. Use the toilets near the gates where you exit the aircraft. They generally are less crowded.
If you're staying in Abu Dhabi for a period of time, keep in mind the duty free shop here is probably the last chance you'll get to buy liquor not at a hotel bar.
Avoid Sunday morning flights except if you are travelling business or you are an Etihad Guest program silver/gold member ... also do online check in and avoid lackage
Flying back to the US? Be prepared for lines. You go through 2 security checks and actually go through US immigration & customs in UAE itself, taking a long time due to the many non-citizens flying
