- If you're American going INTO the US, you'll encounter border agents with great attitudes. Coming back in, however, if you're American, prepare to get some cold shoulders. Sorry, it a fact...
- Brittany JessicaNovember 2, 2014Plenty of food and shops once through security. Security line ups are hit or miss but the bag drop off and check in can sometimes be crazy so definitely leave early.
- SaraSeptember 11, 2014Customs was v.Unusual process. 3 steps to get thru customs seems simple, but it was a mess & unorganized! US & CAN: make sure u scan passport in machine ahead of time or wait 2hrs in non-citizen line
- Get a Nexus card if you frequently fly out of Toronto. Will save you hours of waiting at security lines.
- Get as much done at the Kiosk including baggage tags. Make sure when booking your passport name is exact on all documents. Save u lots of time.

- William LeeOctober 23, 2016If you're flying to the US and have Global Entry, you must have your Global Entry card to use the Nexus/GE security line. The security kiosks don't support passport and fingerprint scanning.
- Naydia CJuly 8, 2014Maple Lounge is quite nice, a great break from the hustle bustle of connecting flights, etc.
- Disorganized ! Come with time. I have dealt with small airports but this is ridiculous for a airport this size.
- Lani LoveJune 30, 2013Like the free wifi & plentiful outlets. Dislike the lack of food & beverage options in the American/WestJet gate. It's really sad, especially since you can see the Tim Hortons on the other side
- Alex TrumanSeptember 7, 2014Be ready at US customs. If you are prepared, you get through pretty quick. ID and boarding pass ready, receipts handy in case.
- LufthansaNovember 8, 2012Beautiful parks and beaches entice a trip to the small group of islands in Lake Ontario. Ferries take you from the foot of Bay Street to the about 3 km off the port located Toronto Beaches.

- Thought was a great airport until today. Sent to Aisle 15 to wait a long time to even be let into customs. Don't arrive too early for your flight to US or you will wait a long time. Eat before arrival
- If you're on an AC flight, watch The Grand Seduction user Canadian Films. Really great film.
- Alex TrumanJanuary 6, 2014Terminal 1 is still one of the longest walks from gate to customs/baggage claim of any airport I have been to. If you have mobility issues, might want to consider a wheelchair.
- Jake RedmanDecember 2, 2015Long stop at YYZ? Check day rates at the Sheraton directly across from Terminal 1.
- IanOctober 12, 2014If you're traveling to/from the US, get a Nexus card and skip the customs line. So much easier.
- For free temp parking while u wait for an arrival: take exit "1 / 3 or Airport Rd", go left at the lights, skip the left road entrance, go straight then round the left bend & make an immediate left!
- If you’re lucky enough to be in Terminal F, then head over to Wahlburgers.
- If you travel to the US a lot, get your Nexus/Global Entry. Will save you loads of time at customs.
- Not getting Nexus card. Here is the bonus. You get the US IRS knowing all your biz if u think it's not bad enough with the CRA. Both tax records are merged. How is that for a tip.
- Food on the international side is super expensive. The cheapest option is Tim Hortons where you can get a sandwich/bagel/muffin for a decent price.
- Bradford NewmanOctober 4, 2012If you have an Amex Platinum or similar Amex status card, flash it at the Cloud 10 entrance at Security Line and fly on through, you need to flash the platinum plastic tho
- Anvar IslamovJanuary 25, 2015"If you see something, say something".Not at Pearson terminal 1.Here nobody cares about unrecognized items. Were trying to bring staff attention to left jacket, half an hour later it is still there..
- There're many food options here - but virtually all are after security. If you want to grab a bite with people not travelling with you, you're better off eating before reaching the airport
- Paul T.May 7, 2017The airport feels dated and the international travelers customs area is confusing. Inside the terminal there aren't many great food choices.
- Cheez CakeJune 7, 2013If you're flying international (terminal 1) and need to drop off your rental car you must enter through terminal 3, drop off your rental, and then take a shuttle bus to terminal 1. Good luck!

- When going through the Nexus Lane at Security they have changed it and you do need to take out your laptop.
- yonerJuly 31, 2019The easiest way into town is taking the UP train. It’s affordable and FAST. Don’t waste time with taxis or Uber.
- Kimberely ChengOctober 22, 2013If you are taking an express flight in terminal 1, chances are you are in an annex with only one meal option. Feels like the island of misfit toys.
- Double check the size of your carry on luggage. I just had to pay $100 to check in a second bag since it happened to be 2cm wider than they allow on board. But at least free wi-fi to vent about it ;)
