- Andrew ManwaringApril 14, 2015Be sure to have the right money for the shuttle bus to the metro or they won't let you on. I know, easier said than done when you've only just arrived in the country!
- Scott SullivanApril 16, 2016When flying BA/AA from LHR to the US, pick up your luggage then head upstairs to the AA counters near the US passport entrance. Don't follow the connections signs. Wish someone told me.
- Fancy new upgrades to USA customs... No need for those paper forms! But now you get your picture taken... ;)
- Terminal 1, Playstation VR set near the F63-ish gates. You get to play cool ps4 games a lot of time if it's not very busy!
- Jake RedmanSeptember 11, 2015The American Airlines Admirals Club is a more immediate right after security than you might think. The entrance is almost IN security.
- Great organic food stand by gate D21. Warning though: spendy! But you probably guessed that already ;)
- Clearing customs has gotten much easier with the new automated systems. However, you seemingly have to show your boarding pass every 20 feet. Keep it handy!
- Kevin FooteMay 7, 2013Getting free wi-fi to connect can be tricky. If you cycle you wifi on and off before connecting to the airport wifi, it will go much more smoothly.
- Alberto NgaiNovember 17, 2011nice airport w free internet & nice food court. If you are going to the US, prepare yourself by checking in early you will go through security first before going to the gates..
- CarmenJanuary 27, 2015Especially in the winter and storm season don't book connecting flights departing from Toronto after 2-3 PM or else you risk getting delayed by 16 hours like I did
- Deborah Lynn Rumble-Dani BA 1995April 29, 2013The continental breakfast is nice and reasonably priced. There was no loss of luggage and the flight was quite relaxing and peaceful with no complaints.
- NanaMay 30, 2016If you're connecting domestically and traveling to the US and have 2 hours to kill you are wrong. Going through the gates, security checks and immigration will kill it. Head over to your gate now!🏃🏽
- Megan AllisonMay 19, 2017Lovely, modern airport with easy breezy US CBP pre-clearance and great shops
- Rebecca MazzaOctober 20, 2016Love the Samsonite store before security where you can check your luggage. I don't like that there is no delta lounge and only a couple restaurants after security
- If you flight gets canceled, return your duty free bottles to the Duty Free Shop (it's open all night) otherwise with your bags already checked you will be donating them to security .
- Chelsea RoseApril 28, 2018This place is HUGE; thank god for the trams. Expect to wait a *long* time in customs, so wear comfortable shoes and arrive *early*
- Ken VanhoeckeMarch 1, 2020This is a mall and hotel plus huge garage in one it’s a whole city within a city!
- New food outlets in T3. Upscale look at Nobel burger bar. More nutritional options for food in the go.
- If you need a quick workout before getting on your flight, checkout the gym at this airport. Lockers, showers and a free towel !
- Daniel LamoureuxAugust 31, 2011On the lower level Gates 101to112, there is ONE outlet on the phone station using the public TTY. Yes you CAN plug in and sit on the window ledge to relax and recharge ;-)
- Need headphones? The guys at the iStore actually know what they're talking about. Very solid technical knowledge of acoustics. I was surprised and impressed.
- Only to be used if traveling abroad. This airport is always packed, he lineups can be hours long, and finding your way around can be a nightmare. A nessicary evil when traveling to/from TO.
- Like every other big airports, busy most of the time, flawless some of the time. Priority security clearance really helps!
- When going through security, if you're lucky enough to receive a pat down be sure to say "that was good for me. Was it good for you?" With a smile on your face
- Leon OeMay 7, 2017I arrived at YYZ and got through immigration and customs within under 5 minutes (non-US/Canadian). Both staff was very friendly. However, it took very long until my bag was delivered
- This is truly Canada's worst Airport for Checked Luggage. I highly recommend you travel with Carry-On luggage only or you'll be waiting very long.
- Alie WelshDecember 28, 2013Get a NEXUS pass if you can, it's worth it and buys extra time when you need it most. (If you're under 18, NEXUS is free)
- Conor ManganMarch 26, 2015Booster juice is really good in t1. And reasonable. Good for filling the stomach without having to get a meal, just add protein.
- If your flight is canceled due to weather, don't bother using ACs N desk to get your free accommodation. Last night the line was at least 6 hours long. Cool #AirCanada strategy to avoid paying !
- Watch out for the terror of Toronto. Short guy patrolling customs. If he catches u w ur fone he takes u out of line and makes u start over.
- ConnorSeptember 30, 2015Getting through security for an international flight goes from being atrocious (1 1/2 hour wait) to 0 wait depending on the day. Make sure to give yourself time.
- If you are lucky, you may meet the singing Attendant at the Air Canada US baggage drop this morning to brighten your day!
- If flying nationally check to see if the lower level security check point is open, much less of a line up than the main checkpoint...got through in 5 minutes

- DoubleTree by Hilton ManagerSeptember 22, 2011Long flight? Peanuts are okay, but bringing a filling, healthy snack like almonds or fruit will keep you tied over until your destination. For more travel tips and fun, follow @DoubleTree on Twitter!
- BonDecember 24, 2018When connecting to another Canadian destination from the US, you go through customs and have to go back in through security. Inefficient much Toronto?
- Joe KapraszewskiSeptember 26, 2014Giant airport... They probably have a food for everyone. Free Wi-Fi. Clean, much natural light.
- If taking public transit (TTC), pay for your fare just inside the terminal from the bus stop. The red TTC machines are much better than having to deal with a TTC driver (who are often rude)
- Paul BruggerJune 10, 2013Tweet @FlightStatus with your flight number and get real-time Twitter flight updates. Remember to "like" this tip :) please.
