- KinoDecember 12, 2016Arrive at 11:45am, 15 mins early, to avoid a wait. The Octopus and Branzino (Mediterranean Sea Bass) are a must. The Peasant Salad, Grape Leaves, & Lemon Potatoes are very good too. Free dessert.
- Divya MenonJune 19, 2016OMG!! I felt I was in Greece when I tasted the food. Great place for authentic Mediterranean food. Grilled Octopuses (you have to get it- so soft!), tzsatziki , house wine, spinach pie, sea bass. Gr8!
- As a Greek, it's as close to home cooking as you'll get. Any seafood dish you order is amazing. I would recommend the octopus, grilled calamari, barbounia (μπαρμπούνι) along with pikilia (ποικιλία)
- GiannaJuly 1, 2016Basically everything here is spectacular. Ambience, food, service. The octopus appetizer is mouth watering and grilled perfectly. Peasant salad is so fresh. The Bronzino a classic favorite. Best in NY
- If the seafood platter isn't on the menu, ask for it. And order everything else. Worth the 2-HR wait, and it flies by with free wine 👍🏻
- Julia LeungJanuary 6, 2015Their complimentary loaf of bread is the best thing I've ever put in my mouth (almost). The octopus was alright -- came out a little cold. Their portions are HUGE. Take some home and save it for later
- Russell HirschornAugust 11, 2015Very much a greek seafood spot. No mousakka or other greek dishes. Grilled octopus, fried cheese, salad, and grilled shrimp recommended. Keep it simple here, they do simple the best.
- Mark HeyertFebruary 4, 2017Fresh fish attention to quality make This the best Greek restaurant in NYC. the octopus is rocking the sardines grilled were heaven. Have fried cheese too and enjoy the house olive oil on everything.
- Emily WilsonNovember 19, 2016A few things... 1. Don't skip out on the bread, but beware-it's addictively good. 2. The octopus is hands down the best in the city. 3. Save room for the flan-like, phyllo & cinammon topped dessert.
- George SpartanAugust 23, 2016The finest seafood cooked to perfection 5 star restaurant with traditional #Greek #taverna spin on it all for pennies on the dollar elsewhere. Long lines and do not take reservations. @GeorgeSpartan
- Graylyn RooseSeptember 28, 2016Authentic Greek seafood restaurant. I enjoyed the peasant salad and the garlic dip for bread. I ordered the fried baby shark, which I'd never had before and it was good. Crowded, so get there early!
- Jorge AranoJuly 23, 2015I had the grilled calamari and lemon potatoes and OMG I had a mouthgasm... This place is SO good... I was lucky to get a table within 10 minutes of my arrival. Highly recommended... A "must"

- Naveed SheikhMarch 7, 2016Best Greek seafood restaurant in the NYC area. All of the food tastes fresh and portions are generous. But be prepared to wait for a table as the dinner crowd is large.
- Sam PezzulloJuly 21, 2013Some of the best Greek seafood I've ever had. The grilled calamari and octopus are top notch! Also try the tzatziki, the spinach pie, and the lima beans.
- I eat till my eyes pop out, that's how good the food is. We always get either snapper or branzino, lemon potatoes, always a Greek salad and grilled octopus! And after all they even give dessert!
- Wow. No other words for an overall great dining experience. The food was phenomenal, the service was lovely, and we particularly enjoyed how they treated 2 first time diners like royalty. 2 thumbs up
- Ranu RajkarnikarDecember 30, 2014Get there early to avoid a wait or grab a drink at nearby MP. Order: octopus, tzatziki, fried sardines, peasant salad and crab stuffed sole, and leave so happy.
- MischaMay 17, 2015The most famous Greek restaurant in Astoria still got it. Come here to try the seafood, you will realize that's the specialty in the menu, ask for any whole fish grilled.
- Jackie CAugust 1, 2015Where you go to impress your uncultured friends. Grilled calamari, lemon potato, and house wine are excellent! To be honest, can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
- dawn.in.newyorkJanuary 28, 2015Always long waiting lines. Servers often offer free small glasses of wine for people in the line. Must get the grilled octopus leg to start! The best greek place in Astoria.
- Pierre van MedgeAugust 8, 2014Your perfect Greek meal: start with the grilled octopus and horiatiki (peasant's salad), and then get the fresh grilled fish or the lamb cutlets, with a side of lemon potatoes! Cali orexi!
- funky flavorNovember 20, 2016Musts: grilled octupus. If in the mood: get the peasant salad (it's the Greek salad without lettuce) do not: fried zucchini and eggplant (too greasy and paste was dull ) great complementary desert.
- T SNovember 10, 2018Authentic Greek restaurant where it's worth to wait for a table. The grilled octopus is definitely worth to start with! However, the fried whiting is forgettable...
- Serious EatsJuly 23, 2013Incredibly popular Greek seafood spot with waits that can stretch an hour or two. Well-cooked if barebones seafood and a lively atmosphere.
- Kate LaPortaMarch 2, 2013Start with the greek salad, Saganaki (fried cheese), & grilled octopus. The branzino(european seabass) & stuffed shrimp w/ crab meat are great choices. Get the tzatziki and dip everything in it!!!
- Grilled octopus. Nice and tender. Gravy of lemon potatoes good to dip red snapper into. Red snapper nicely done. Seafood platter large - enough for 2-3 people
- ElizaNovember 7, 2013Galaktoboureko: a semolina-based custard in phyllo - made the 2hrs wait for dinner totally worth it because it was spoonfuls after spoonfuls of sweet goodness, YUM!!! =9
- Daniel ChvatikJune 3, 2015Excellent authentic Greek food with a focus on seafood. No bad choice on the menu but I love the fried cheese. :)
- Elle F.October 10, 2016Highlights Include the Grilled Octopus, Tzatziki, Broiled Scallops and Kyclades Special (Scallops, Lobster Tail, Stuffed Clams, Stuffed Shrimp and Filet of Sole).

- Beth GeorgeApril 30, 2014Free wine while you wait makes queuing no problem! We had dessert and an extra glass each on the house as we were one of the last few tables. Will definitely go back!

- Patrick HealyAugust 8, 2014The food is good - really good - but it ain't cheap. And you'll wait for an hour on the sidewalk to pay it. There are lots of good Greek places you can go to in Astoria and not deal with the hassle.
