- Théo BlochetDecember 31, 2015Cash only. Walk-in, no reservation. Great chinese food, not necessarily spicy. There is quite a lot of choice. The dumplings are great.
- inna katsNovember 6, 2015Better than Xi-an's - more flavor, more spice. Spicy beef stew noodle was yum, with a PBR from the corner Asian store for $1.50.
- Village VoiceAugust 15, 2014Highly recommended is the hui mei with spicy brisket sauce, which might almost remind you of a European stew. Read more
- RCFebruary 5, 2015For all the great reviews, I was disappointed by the spicy brisket. NOT spicy in the least. The noodles were excellent though. The soup dumplings were pretty good.
- Eric VanderSchaafMarch 22, 2019The pork pancake is amazing. The hole-in-the-wall feel is great. CASH ONLY!
- Jenn WongMay 28, 2015Pork pancake is so good! Perfect amount of savory spice and a few fresh pieces of cilantro! :)
- Colin LeeJuly 28, 2018Lots of visitors, but food lives up to hype. Da pan ji - get two portions of noodle
- Christian DickmannApril 23, 2015Pork pancakes are cheap and tasty! Overall though I wasn't as wowed by this place as others. Had lots of more exciting Chinese food.
- Fatma GencApril 30, 2015Truly my no1 restaurant to come back to in NY. Delicious chinese + great price/quality.
- Emiliano ViscarraDecember 10, 2016Amazing cheap food. Almost everything on he menu is good. Try the soup dumplings.
- Real Cheap EatsJune 17, 2012Try the pork pancake, which holds "a decent helping of minced pork that is doused liberally with hoisin sauce and topped with cilantro." Don't forget to add chili oil! Read more
- Julia MJanuary 24, 2015Shredded pork pancakes (must. get.) for $2.50; oxtail noodle soup; big plate of chicken w rice on the side.
- Village VoiceAugust 15, 2014The most shareable dish is “spicy big tray chicken,” a humongous pile of poultry enriched with mouth-numbing Sichuan peppercorns. Read more
- Don't miss the pork pancake, soup dumplings and hand pulled noodles and chicken.
- ChelseaApril 15, 2015Pork pancakes, big pan chicken, noodles, noodles, noodles!! BYOB. So delicious.
- Hunter NewmanMarch 14, 2016The noodle soup is similar to xi'an famous foods but the environment feels more authentic, which leads to a more enjoyable experience.
- Pork pancake + chili oil tastes like heaven (for only $2.50, and it is filling). Eat it at the park across the street.
- Yaz MusApril 6, 2018Everything is good here - the noodles are the perfect solution to this never-ending winter
- Charles GuerreroAugust 13, 2015Big Tray Chicken. Get it, and share with a friend. Not so crowded right at noon.
- Lori LuoAugust 11, 2014The Da Pan Ji (big plate of chicken) with an order of knife-cut noodles is the way to go here.
- Roger ChenDecember 8, 2017Quaint spicy food place in Chinatown - if you like cumin-esque foods, this is good. Very limited seating; plan ahead. Also, I think they should not use plastic Asian soup spoons, low LOS from these.
- emily chenJuly 12, 2014Big Tray of Chicken and keep adding handpulled noodles. Way better than Xi'an Famous Foods!
- Veg friendly - ask for Buddhist noodles - dumplings are great, awesome hand pulled noodles.
- Spicy Village > Xian. Get the beef brisket noodle soup and a pork "pancake". No liang pi, unfortunately =(
- Emilie DishonghApril 21, 2015Yes the big tray chicken is why you come, but don't miss the super oniony dumplings.
- A lesser known but delicious dish is the egg & tomato hui mui- light and tasty.
- GayngoodJuly 6, 2018spicy beef brisket > big tray of chicken, but probably only because you don't have to debone anything? Still deciding
- Get the big tray chicken with noodles, and split with a friend!
- Foxxy BJuly 29, 2017They tell you 30 min but it ends up being an hr. Nothing is actually spicy. The chicken in the "chicken tray" is unrecognizable. Stick with the dumplings & noodle based dishes, if anything. Cash only!
- Big tray chicken, dry beef brisket huimei, pork pancake, soup dumplings
- Ozlem YildizJune 5, 2019Grilled pepper chicken was really good. However, the vegetable dumplings had too much ginger we couldn’t eat it.
- Deb MigneaultMarch 16, 2014Big tray chicken! But really everything we had was awesome. We'll be back!!!
