It's quite overrated. The French touch makes Americans go crazy, but as a European you won't be that impressed. The price is to high compared with what you're getting. That said, the food is good.

Lafayette is the grand brasserie New York’s been lacking for some time now. Baltzhazar had a nice run, but the torch has been passed.
