Came here for a business lunch and i felt nervous bc I choose the place and never been. Once our food arrived I was blown away! WHAT A GREAT PLACE! The food was AWESOME!
Excellent food and drinks, but the real gem is the downstairs (hidden) restaurant and bar. After 6pm, ask the guy who is sitting in front of the door if he will let you in.
Love all Tur tacos, especially like the Acelgas as a side(spinach and beans) and they have a really good tortilla soup with cold. When it warns up go for a Palleta
The ultra-exclusive restaurantdownstairs isn't easy to snag a table at, so if you're out of luck, go to the more casualtaqueria around the corner. You can get the same mouthwatering tacos here.
Leave room for the upside-down plantaincake for dessert. A spoonful of crushed almondice cream with warm, spongy cake and caramelizedplantain exterior ... lovely contrasts in flavor and texture.
With a reservation needed to gain entrance, one is brought to a fine diningbrasserie in the basement. Serving dishes from Mexican stylegrilled corn to ceviche, a selection of Mexican food is served. Read more
If the vegetariankale and white beantacos are on the menu that day, you're going to want to get that. Good enough to convert a kale-hater into a kale lover for life.
speakeasy esque environment - the restaurant is hidden away downstairs. make a reservation if you can! and try the mahi mahi tacos & the ahi tunatostada
Nice place although a Mexican waiter seemed to be nice until they took didn't want to do anything when the took my drink but the bartender very nicely gave me another one. Great music by the way!
The tacos served at the little Kenmare Street Corner Deli shack that "hides" the "underground" restaurant are so damn good we're almost ready to absolve the rest of the establishment's tiresome scene. Read more
The prices (for sometimes identical food) increase as you move from the bar to the sidewalk to the back room to the basement. rotisserie chicken tacos off the chain
Love love love this place. Great atmosphere, service & food. Margaritas are crazy good! Try the ceviche Acapulco (best ever!), quesadillas, octopustostadas, the ribs and the plantain chips!!!!
Great for a quick pick up (though sometimes the service isn't so quick) or if you need a place for a sit-down lunch (especially in the summer when you can snag a seat outside). We like the tortas.
Cool brasserie with a speakeasy vibe. The adobo de puerco is amazing. The worst waiter award goes to the guy with the umbrella tattoo. Totally brought down the experience.
Tacos available to order at the street level, the jalapeno margaritas (Pepino Diablo) from the bar underneath are awesome. Reservation for dinner then no problem getting into the bar.
Need reservations. Speakeasy entrance through the kitchen of a taco stand, it has a very cool/stylish vibe inside: romantic but not intimate. Tasty Mexicany-fusionish food.
The food on both floors is well worth the visit -- the steak, pork, and chicken tacos are always delicious, but be sure and try the Mexican trufflequesadilla and the Elotes Callejeros.
Enter through the take out section to get to the bar and downstairsrestaurant (you'll walk through the kitchen on the way) or try the quieter upstairs section around the corner.
Vegetarians should get the vegantacos (off the menu), yuka tostadas, grilled corn, and grilled string beans. The queso fundido and quesadilla are also really good.
Beautiful underground Mexican restaurant and tequilabar hidden underneath the kitchen area of a Mexican fast food-looking joint. One of my favorite restaurants in NYC! -Francine, The Real L Word
If you are cool you'll be downstairs. Food is good but I rather go to a true Mexican stand. If you want to hang out, grab a drink, see and be seen, Mexican style.. This is your place.,
This haute Mexican eatery is harder to get into than Harvard, having built a rep around fancytequilas and ceviche. Can't snag abooth? The no-frills, street-level taqueria can sate your wounded ego.
Craving chorizo? The chorizoquesadilla is calling you then. They stuff that bad boy with 98% meat and 2% cheese. I loved it. So greasy, but o so delicious.
For lunch on a nice day, sit outside on the corner and have an Aguacate con Quesotorta (sandwich). Note: you canNOT order french fries to go (which is a bummer, since they're delicious!).
