Edeka is also the best place to grab a cheap meal in airport. Great sandwiches and the innocent smoothies are a fraction of price at the restaurants.
In fact, the so called fast lane doesn't even REMOTELY deserve that name as they mix even Star Alliance Gold members with low cost backpackers. Lufthansa- 0 Points - next time i go 4 Ryanair
Car2Go is located at P4 (in front of the Hotel) and costs an additional 4,90€ for both picking-up and parking.
Bypass traffic and use the public train to/from the airport. Easy system, efficient, low cost.
Free Wi-Fi (Mobilcom) for 1 hour. If you have more than one email address you have more free Wi-Fi ;-)

Airport lounge has a nice little smoking room - a rare pleasure these days!
Great place to do some Sunday shopping (including groceries at the Edeka) and get a haircut.
Instead of queueing for a taxi and waiting for hours, call 040 2111799. Hansa Taxi will send a car within minutes, picking you up in front of the terminal. Great Service!
Very competent airport. For international flights you'll have to go through passport control. Don't underestimate the time it takes to get to the gates.

Worst airport ever. This is the queue I have to wait with my 3 year old!!!! No other airport ever does this to children. Usually they pull us out from such queues. Welcome to Germany 😠
When you see this you're going to overpay everything - water is at least one EUR cheaper when you walk additional 50 m.

Hamburg Airport was opened in January 1911, making it the oldest airport in the world still in operation. In November 2016 it was named after former senator of Hamburg and chancellor of Germany, Helmut Schmidt. It is the fifth-busiest airport in Germany with 17.3 million passengers in 2019.
