This packed barbeque joint is serving up awesome ribs (Texas Salt & Pepper Beef Ribs), perfect mac & cheese and collared greens. Start with the deviled eggs! Jazz music is served on the side.
Great BBQ in Manhattan! We he my husbands 30th Bday here, the food was delicious right from staters, main course & desert. Everything on their menu is great! Great service, thank you for a lovely time

Almost everything is great here.. must be a meat lover though. I wouldn’t recommend to a vegan or vegetarian. I’ve been going for years now, it’s not the same without chef Jean Paul but still good!
Made a veg eater (me namely) a meat believer. Delicious, tried the everything platter, Mac n cheese, kale salad - yummo!Cornbread madelines are out of this world with the maple butter.
The Alabama barbecue wings and cornbread madeleines were the favorites of our group and great for sharing (unlike the barbecue shrimp, which seemed to only be three per order).
Danny Meyer’s contribution to NYC barbecue is probably the fanciest spot on the list, so naturally, you should order the prime rib. Get the Alabama “white” wings, too. Read more
Delicious barbecue smells and foods, including Kansas City and Carolina styles. Reasonably priced, including no tipping. The beef ribs, mac-n-cheese and cornbread were my favorites.
If it's just too hard to choose, opt for the $23 sampler, which comes with both Texas and Kansas City ribs along with a helping of sauce-slathered Memphis style baby back ribs. Read more
Chef Kenny Callaghan makes exemplary Memphis baby back ribs using a 17-spice blend that sits on the ribs for a day. At $16 per half-rack, they're more savory than sweet and fall-off-the-bone tender. Read more
Ask the bartenders about their whiskey selection. Ribs are sub par (no one at our table ate them all), but everything else was great. Brisket can be served lean, medium or fatty too. Get deviled eggs
Superior service - extremely friendly and helpful wait staff. I came here for a special event and our waitress was just phenomenal. The food was also delicious, but typical BBQ foods.
I had the crispy chicken sandwich and it was amazing. I was so surprised by how juicy it was. I asked for fries instead of salad. There are no lunch specials here.
Came in on the first day of a new menu and counter-service model at lunch and it was exactly what this neighborhood needed. It’s much cheaper and quicker than it used to be. White wings are the bomb!
Blue smoke use-to-be really good. I keep trying to like it again but since they changed their menu the place is really lame - do NOT visit. For excellent BBQ try Mighty Quinn, Fette Sau, or Hometown

Halstead's Local Expert Jeff Tanenbaum says one of the best finds for Jazz, BBQ or both is Blue Smoke. Its a gathering spot for everyone to enjoy great drinks and the best BBQ ribs in NYC.
Very kid friendly!!!! Before your food comes they bring out an uncooked cookie for your child to decorate and then put it in the oven for them to take home or eat for dessert.
One of the best BBQ places in the city. It's hard to decide what to order, but their pulled pork melts in your mouth like butter. Order the ribs if you're really hungry, and there are plenty of sides
We ordered quite a number of appetizers so we could sample all different dishes. The chipotle wings were delicious! Best part for me was the seasonal pumpkin cheesecake. Best I've ever had!
Advice from a veteran - the move here is to order a bunch of apps/sides, chipotle wings, spicy cheese fries, mac n cheese, cornbread, can't remember is the sausage sampler is still on the menu
Notwithstanding comments at top of listing Blue Smoke does not have chicken fried steak on the menu and bartender standing ifo me says they haven't in a long time, but it was great when they did.

The Texas Salt and Pepper Beef Ribs are extraordinary (although we suspect they have nitrates/nitrites in them). Eat them. Also very good deviled eggs.
If this is your first time and you don't know what to eat, ribs sampler is the best choice that you can have. You will have three different ribs and They ar absolutely delicious.

The Ribs are succulent and flavorful; sweet and savory! Our favorite dish was the Mashed potatoes. Rich, creamy and accented by the crispy onions on top. Pure goodness!
the pulled pork sandwich and Mac and cheese are musts. portions are a bit small, service was extremely slow, but the quality of food would make me come back.
My favorite place for BBQ in NY. Ribs are delicious, warm BBQ chips and blue cheese dip is a great starter and don't miss out on the rich and creamy mac and cheese
Genius idea for kids: they being you cookie dough in the shape of a pig with sprinkles for the kid to do the decorating, then take it back to kitchen for cooking, and then bring out the cooked cookie.
