If you are gonna have a connection with another flight, get out of the airport and visit the city, train ticket 11 euro. Definitely the city is a MUST and it is very close ( 45 minutes go and back)
Traffic was bad as most Bavarian return from short holiday in Austria. Today is the last day for Octoberfest festival so, expect slow crawling traffic entering Munchen city. But weather is perfect
To get to the Fußball Arena München (UEFA Champions League final venue) from the airport take the S8 to Marienplatz, where you can change onto the underground and take the U6 up to Fröttmaning. Read more
I noticed that the arrival hall very tight and small compared to the departure halls. Rightly so as more passengers will be departing at same time but on different airlines.
Very efficient passport control and security. Pay close attention to what gates your flight departs from as there don't seem to be common screens showing overall status of flights
Quite big but clean, avoid catching taxis to the city center a 20 minutes ride will cost you from 60 to 80€ depending on traffic, the train will cost you 9€ instead!!
