Very expensive. But nicest theater in town with assigned seats. Show up early. Get seats. Hang out and drink and eat.

Bars on second and third floors. Use the elevator to get between them so you don't have to show your stamp.
Leave time to park if going by car. There's a garage under Sundance and another one block east (or get lucky with street parking).
Pick your own seat! A little pricey but worth the tradeoff.
Reserved seating, 21+, great beer selection - this is the ULTIMATE movie theatre going experience!

A place you can get alcohol and assigned seats. Don't forget your ID though!
Not sure if it's allowed, but I've brought my own wine in the past... Then all you need is to buy some yummy snacks and enjoy the show!

The balcony seating is the best because your can buy alcohol.

Most folks respect the reserved seating assignments. Have an adult beverage upstairs.

Greg SmithiesAugust 2, 2011While you can drink in most of the theatres here, make sure you book in the correct ones. You can't drink in cinema 7 and 8 Read more- Enjoy AMAZING Indian food and cocktails across the street at Dosa before or after your film.

Nick CadeDecember 8, 2009The dopest thing about this theatre is the option to buy specific seats for the show. If you're into movies this really counts. There are also some good Korean bbq joints right up the street.

Kim De GuzmanApril 23, 2017No longer the Sundance Kabuki. It's now owned by AMC, and they no longer validate parking if you park in Japantown. ☹️ they play ads before movies, and service isn't as good as before.

Jess CliftonAugust 9, 2009anytime you can see a movie in Auditorium #1, sit in the balcony. It's 21+ and you have direct access to the balcony bar. Plus, the seats are super comfortable. Best for 2 ppl.

There is a cash bar with no lines up on the balcony level near the entrance to the theater
Make sure you buy tickets in advance online to ensure the best seats!
Make sure you're in the over-21 theaters if you plan on drinking, or be prepared for a sad sober time.
