During brunch, they serve two of the best dishes from the lunch and dinner menus: the chicken thigh torta and the stellar lamb naan tacos. Also get chilaquiles, and a steak and egg burrito.
Ride the elevator to the restaurant’s Murray Hill rooftop (a/k/a Pod 39 Rooftop), where a limited menu, strong mixed drinks & views of the surrounding pre-war apartments with terraces are the lures. Read more
The braised beef chili is rich with tender meat and heady with cumin, and the tacos are pretty good too, but the right move is a single dish: the shawarma, which is slow cooked and griddle crisped. Read more
Awesome hangover brunch. Get the chorizo fried rice w/ poached eggs or Moroccan lamb naan taco. Top it off with a bloody mary. After your meal check out the 17th floor rooftop for killer views
Eat this: Sweetbread tacos, skirt steak tacos, lamb on naan, kimchi posole, Jacob’s Ladder Feast. Drink this: 5 Island Horchata spiked with dark rum and Fernet Vallet, excellent tart house margarita. Read more
It's awesome here. The drinks are a little expensive but they have ping pong tables and lots of couches / sections for groups. It's great when bars have a lot of places to sit down.
BEER BATTERED FISH TACOS: magic of the silver bullet? the beer-battered fillet is fresh and crisp enough to satisfy an englishman on the east side of the atlantic. only complaint not enough sauce.
What a find in the neighborhood - really cool atmosphere in the back with 2 ping pong tables - excellent fish tacos and tomatillo salad and greatfruit vodka cocktail with vanilla salt rim is a must
The chips & salsa/guacamole...margaritas..margaritas..margaritas YUM! The pork shank tacos (juicy with a crispy skin) and last but not least churros with chocolate
Very lively (and loud) taco place. The taco parties brings you a giant braised lamb shoulder for DIY tacos, fun to share. Not the most authentic but definitely good for the crowd
The roof is a beautiful spot for a sunset. It's also good for private events. Beware the roof is guarded by belligerent bouncers. It's a favorite afterwork spot for bros and their accomplices.
A daily happy hour offers margarita for $7, a selection of beer on draft for $5, and glasses of wine are $7. There are also snacks like empanadas ($5) filled with chihuahua cheese and serrano.
New. What kind of food do they have? Snacks, tortas, tacos, and bigger plates like a whole roasted pig's head and a barbecued lamb shoulder. Drinks? An extensive list - http://goo.gl/yL24W by Sam A. Read more
To visit the rooftop bar, check in at the host stand inside this joint. While you wait try the chips and guac. If you don't care about the rooftop thing, go round 8p to find a spot 2 chill.
Sunny K was the most pleasant and helpful server I have had in all my visits here. I've never been impressed with the service here but she was truly wonderful and accommodating for our group.
Awesome rooftop and great food at the street level restaurant but when it comes to service is surprisingly bad and inexperienced treating customers. Bit unbalanced. Hope gets better because is a pity!
Be there before 6PM to get happy hour margaritas and chicken quesadillas - so delicious. Tacos with beef are melting in your mouth but the portion is tiny, more of an appetizer.
Empanadas with cheese, Serrano peppers, and tomatillo salsa are awesome. Also, split the crispy fish taco dinner. Perfect for two people and Mayan mayo is fantastic!
Located on the first floor of a hotel, Salvation Taco acts as a lounge, ping-pong table area, and restaurant where tacos, tortas, and crispy pig ears are delicious.
We had the lamb shoulder for two ($41). The meat was tender and delicious but not enough vegetables. The portions of other taco plates feel more like tapas to me. Marg was great ($14). A bit pricey!
Tacos are the name of the game here, though, with options like the skirt-steak taco with pecans, crispy sweetbread with chickpeas and the Moroccan lamb on naan bread. Read more
Very nice decor and a nice rooftop. Only flaw is that the price is high for a low quantity. $14 for the smallest guac in the world. Don't come with an empty stomach unless you're willing to spend $.
Eat this: empanadas, lamb on roti, al pastor tacos, fish feast dinner, churros with mexican chocolate. Drink the spicy margaritas, Sonora Old Fashioned, Astral Plane and Weathervane.
Tacos look delicious, but just visited for drinks. Get your hand stamped and head to the roof top bar! Bartenders up there are slow so get a drink downstairs, but the view and ambience are great
The sweetbread and chickpea was my favorite by far. Simply amazing! Always wanted to try sweetbreads and am now a huge fan! Great atmosphere. New fav place in the city!
Guacamole is great - super pure with just avocado, lime, and maybe jalapeños and cilantro. Not sure why everyone loves the lamb taco - super gamey. Go for cauliflower instead.
I had actually ordered the Korean BBQ instead of the lamb, but I got the lamb... Holy fuck it was amazing. Also the skirt steak was great, but listen to the reviews: thou must inhale the lamb!!
Eater.com suggests the lunch/brunch chicken thigh torta: A crusty roll is stuffed with tender confit chicken, black beans, crispy radish slivers, avocado, and an earthy adobo sauce.
The pictures online were misleading but it is a comfy set up. The drinks are pricey. Wasn’t crazy about the food. I think it’s a good place for drinks and appetizers. Also chips and salsa aren’t free.
The staff is super nice, welcoming and friendly, but the food is tasteless. Tried the chicken, fish, and beef tacos & none of them stood out, tried four appetizers as well and they were tasteless too.
They put a lot of love and effort into their drinks, the salvation margarita and traveler (try w/ tequila instead of vodka) are absolutely delicious. Still working out some service kinks.
Want to try all of their tacos? They have a secret off-menu sampler (one of each taco). Ask your server in a quiet whisper and you'll be taking a flight if tacos in no time.
CHURROS: paired with semi-sweet chocolate. churro outside is a little hard and chewy - should be hard & crispy or soft & chewy. overall, subpar churros.
Cocktails were delish. Arrived famished and was surprised by the small portions Salvation Taco offered. I'll definitely be back but for the drinks and atmosphere, not the food.
