Though it looks and feels like a small airport; it can be a long walk.
Rhea CurtisJune 28, 2011Definitely go to Surdyk's near terminal C. Best sandwiches and spend the $ to get a bottle of Triple Karmeliet.
If you're just stopping through, Caribou Coffee is a must. Wish they had them in San Francisco!
They've added a good sushi place at the food court near C10. Not as good as DTW but good.
Coffee and food everywhere. The new G is very fancy.
If Delta delays or cancels your flights and gives you a hotel voucher, don't take your anger out on the shuttle drivers or hotel staff! Take it out on Delta when you're back at the airport!

Take advantage of Start! A 1.4 mile walk with green mile markers between the G and C concourses.
The mall here is nice. Check out the wine bar on the way to Terminal F.

Take the Skyway Security as soon as you get off the subway for immediate entrance.

If you are hungry, the best food around is at the French Meadow Bakery Cafe.
FREE WIFI, except you have to resign in every hour but whatever.
TSA precheck doesn't open til 4:30 so if you have a 5am flight, be ready to wait in the cattle chutes.

Allow plenty of time to get thru security. Only two checkpoints open with only one line thru each checkpoint. Took me 55 minutes to complete the process.
The flash-operated maps are pretty sweet. You can even look up the restaurant menus on them!
Sit down before you get to the G17-22 area - it's very crowded!
Easily the nicest restrooms I've ever seen in any airport in any country.
