Puligny-Montrachet
The Village of Puligny is considered to be the ideal terroir for Chardonnay. With 4 Grand Crus and many Premier Crus surrounding them, Puligny is home to some of the most sacred vineyard ground in all of France, and possibly the world. These wines are generally on the riper side of Chardonnay, and can age gracefully. Look to Etienne Sauzet, Paul Pernot, and Domaine Leflaive for premier examples.
