Caucasian Restaurant · 12 tips and reviews
Gabriel Seah: Complimentary pickled cabbage OK: crisp & sour. Bread rolls weren't good. Kompot (fruit drink) was OK: quite light. Great Georgian food: tasty, big portions. Service here is pretty good

Vietnamese Restaurant · 3 tips and reviews
Gabriel Seah: The bahn mi (Vietnamese sandwiches) are $4 - including tax! They're pretty big. The baguette had some crustiness. Assorted is stuffed with various meat products. It's pretty decent
Gabriel Seah: Watermelon ice cream roll: watermelon flavour convincing. The torched marshmallow has a lovely flavour. You can add toppings like whipped cream, chocolate hazelnut rolled wafer, boba & chocolate sauce
Gabriel Seah: Farm-to-table food, made using rustic French cooking techniques and local, seasonal ingredients, but as a quick-service concept. If that doesn't mean anything: you get a new menu every 2 months!
Gabriel Seah: This place opened by Syrian refugees has Syrian food on the menu (none of their items are generic Middle Eastern). The staff here are really nice.
Gabriel Seah: This place serves fresh mini donuts late into the night. You get 1 flavour for every 6 donuts, from 3 choices: cinnamon sugar, OG sour cream icing & a weekly special. The latter is a bit pricier.
Gabriel Seah: One of the rare Five Guys outlets in the GTA which has shakes. You get unlimited mix-ins so you can go crazy: many flavours in 1 shake is great. Bacon sounds odd but it's the best especially with Oreo

Noodle Restaurant · 4 tips and reviews
Gabriel Seah: Besides Yunnan crossing-the-bridge noodles, they also have various snacks that are pretty cheap, starting at $2.99 & maxing out at $6.99. There's a cash discount but it's only 5%.
Gabriel Seah: Lunch specials are $7.95, including weekends. They're quite a big portion. The egg roll was good, with cabbage and bits of red roast pork (though I couldn't taste it: it's just for show)
Gabriel Seah: Samosas cheaper & tastier than Samosa King; 5 for $1. They were fresh & the interior had a light yellow filling. It tasted a bit like dal mix though the texture was different of course.
Gabriel Seah: The deep fried chicken wings are pretty good - with an especially crispy, light batter. I've had tastier Chinese chicken wings in the GTA but these still taste pretty decent
American Restaurant · St. Lawrence · 62 tips and reviews
Gabriel Seah: Good value brunch with 2 carving stations. The food here is generally decent, except the chicken sausage which was chewy & flavourless & whose skin had lost its bounce. The BBQ chicken was excellent.

Japanese Restaurant · Pleasant View · 28 tips and reviews
Gabriel Seah: This place was recommended to me by a Japanese person, and I can see why: this Japanese restaurant is more refined than average, with a somewhat peaceful interior.
Gabriel Seah: This chain has pretty cheap grub. Nothing fancy - mainly tacos, burritos & burgers, but there's lots of deals & potential for customisation. Ever wanted relish, feta & hot sauce in your tacos?
Gabriel Seah: This Indian place has a modern interior. They have a daily $25 lunch buffet. This far north, the selection is not huge, but it's still decent.
Gabriel Seah: Weekend lunch & dinner buffet of South Indian food. Almost all Indian buffets here are North Indian or primarily North Indian, so a South Indian buffet is a welcome change.
Gabriel Seah: Had the weekday lunch buffet, which was only $13.99. The pizza was fresh up till almost the end due to turnover & they rotated the flavours & it tasted decent.
Gabriel Seah: This Persian place is great value. The rice portions are huge as is normal for Iranian places. Gheyme (Veal stew) was pretty good but it was mostly beans with little veal.
Sheraton Parkway Toronto North (600 Hwy 7 E), Richmond Hill, ON
Diner · 9 tips and reviews
Gabriel Seah: Mushroom soup was excellent - rich, creamy, umami & bursting with flavour. The big chunks of mushroom in it were really tender. The pastries were all flaky, which is unusual at buffets.
Gabriel Seah: Butcher's shop that also sells cooked Indian dishes. Takeout only. Butter chicken was very good: rich & creamy. It was made with boneless white meat, but was still quite moist.
Gabriel Seah: Roman pizza not common here but offers a refreshing change from the usual Italian-American or even Neapolitan offerings. The dough is lighter & chewier & you get more interesting toppings like potato.
Gabriel Seah: This place does Korean fusion food. In summer with the slow moving ceiling fan & open doors, it almost feels Mediterranean. Prices are reasonable too.
350 Davis Dr, Unit 7 (Davis Dr & Main St), Newmarket, ON
Chinese Restaurant · 3 tips and reviews
Gabriel Seah: You get standard Canadian Chinese dishes here, with a few Thai options. Lunch special is super cheap - as little as $6.75. You can get a free upgrade to plain fried rice.
Gabriel Seah: The bruschetta flatbread was really good: the crust had a nice, chewy texture with crispness & it was herbed. The toppings were good quality
