- Robin Taylor RothApril 28, 2010Heads-up, Oyster Bar lovers: The Grand Central Oyster Bar will soon be opening a "branch" in Newark Liberty International Airport's Terminal C!
- This place is one of the old gems of new york. Get a beer and Fried Oyster po-boy for lunch off the bar menu.
- Jo RausenJanuary 6, 2018Don’t come here on Saturday - shit shuck job on oysters. I expect this for a $1 oyster happy hour but NOT for full price. Shell graveyard below.
- Mike O'DeaMarch 8, 2011Sit at the rightmost side of the oyster bar and watch the cook finish soups in steam jacketed pots.
- Crystal GinnMarch 6, 20092 dozen oysters (highly reco the Hama Hama) and white wine at the fabulous Oyster Bar @ Grand Central. I try to go every other month. It's a must!
- Nastya SummerJune 8, 2017The price doesn't match the quality. (I tried oysters Rockefeller and dessert, didn't like both). Plus the staff wasn't really amiable, as I expected from other reviews
- Gustavo RazzettiOctober 15, 2010ask for fried clams and fresh oysters (37 varieties to chose from) with blue point beer
- Rafi RomeroAugust 9, 2015The oysters were bland and hard to tell apart. Drowned in condiments to the point that I questioned what was the point of having oysters if you can't taste them. Definitely skip this tourist trap.
- Shane M.January 17, 2012Service was very good, oysters were great. Entrées were not. My suggestion is go for the oysters and enjoy dinner elsewhere.
- Emily DangNovember 6, 2011The Manhattan clam chowder was hearty and delicious. Service was horrible- our waiter didn't like us sitting in the main dining area since we were only eating apps and drinking. I'm not coming back.
- Rebecca PalmerAugust 18, 2013Do not make bookings or turn up at 9pm, kitchen wants to close and they make sure you know it, maybe better for a lunch venue. Oysters are excellent, king crab overpriced and bland.
- I love Raw bar. It is worth seeing. A show every minute.
- Bob van LeeuwenOctober 1, 2010Clams Casino rock over here. Soft shell crabs in june were great as well (only seasonal).
- Give the WellFleet Oysters a try. You won't be disappointed...
- Andrea RosenMarch 13, 2009Go to Oyster Bar alone, sit at the bar, and make nice with the staff. They slipped me a couple free Hama Hamas last time.
- Jakub RehorAugust 25, 2011Order: oysters (my favorites are Cuttyhunks: large, buttery, erotic). Avoid: everything else.
- Ben TregoingFebruary 17, 2013Worst service in a bar I have ever experienced, hands down. Rude, aggressive, crazy. Her manager came over and apologised, said she was having a bad day, but still told us to leave. Unbelievable.
- The pan roasts are the best things on the menu. Skip the sandwiches.
- Sho JiroDecember 22, 2010This Grand Central favorite tops the Village Voice's Top 10 Oyster Bar list.
- Katia RekhoMay 21, 2014Hortible service. I came very thirsty. After five minutes I started to call any server to ask just a bottle of water but they started to tell me wait that is not their table.
- the long island shinnecock oysters are great (early sept 09). also, oyster pan roast w/ six points righteous rye on rainy day.
- Jay ShawDecember 23, 2010Good selection of Rieslings, but who needs that when they serve a Kentucky Honey? Sit in the saloon.
