The bridge is under construction, I can not walk all the way across. If you have a bike you can ride all the way across on the bike side! Great views even if it's foggy!

My Great-Grandfather was one of the builders of the Golden Gate Bridge. I get a little more proud and happy when I cross it, and still think its one of the most beautiful bridges ever.
From the warming hut on the SF side, to Sausalito and back is about four miles. It's an easy run an one best done early in the morning to watch the sun rise over the bay.

Try to walk across before 9am and the crowds. Look down at the water, you could see sea lions and dolphins.

There are dolphins and seals in the water below the bridge. Just pay attention as you are walking across, and you will see at least one.
MazdaOctober 28, 2010The famous International Orange color was originally used as a sealant for the bridge. Many locals persuaded Morrow to paint the bridge in the vibrant orange color instead of standard silver or gray.
