    The bridge is under construction, I can not walk all the way across. If you have a bike you can ride all the way across on the bike side! Great views even if it's foggy!

    From the warming hut on the SF side, to Sausalito and back is about four miles. It's an easy run an one best done early in the morning to watch the sun rise over the bay.

    Reaching the bridge from Downtown San Francisco? Take any Golden Gate Transit bus along Mission St., Civic Center, or Financial District & tell the driver to let you off at the toll plaza

    My Great-Grandfather was one of the builders of the Golden Gate Bridge. I get a little more proud and happy when I cross it, and still think its one of the most beautiful bridges ever.

    Do make the full crossing and explore Sausalito, very nice little town with a couple of good restaurants for lunch. Then take a ferry back to SF, beats any tourist cruise!

    Recommend renting bicycles in SF, biking over the bridge and returning via Ferry from Sausalito or Tiburon

    A landmark you must visit when you are in SFO. Carefull winds can get to 100 mph in the bridge.

    Every day so caffeinated, I wish they were Golden Gated... Take me to the city by the bay... If I could wish upon a shooting star I would hitch a cable car to the place that I can always call my own..

    Try to walk across before 9am and the crowds. Look down at the water, you could see sea lions and dolphins.

    There are dolphins and seals in the water below the bridge. Just pay attention as you are walking across, and you will see at least one.

    The famous International Orange color was originally used as a sealant for the bridge. Many locals persuaded Morrow to paint the bridge in the vibrant orange color instead of standard silver or gray.

    The best way to visit is to go to the view point on the hill nearby at midnight on a full moon night. Surreal!
