Spectacular! Go to the other side, not the vista point with all tourists. You can find great spots on the other road to park and enjoy!

Welcome to the Golden Gate! Did you know 120,000 cars travel across here daily? The bridge is 1.7 miles from beginning to end with a 4,200 foot suspension span. It takes about an hour to walk across.

For the best view / picture opportunity of the bridge, go to baker beach. Much better views there than at the touristy gift shop area. Or go across the bridge to hawk hill, beautiful view there too

Drive over and up into the hills for a view of the bridge with the city behind it- if the fog is on your side, it's a breathtaking view!

See if the marine layer has crept in before you take a tour boat to the bridge. Clear and sunny skies at the pier doesn't necessarily correlate with conditions at the bridge.

The full bridge walk is slightly difficult if windy. Layer your clothes, take raincoat as umbrella doesn't help in the wind. There is a shelter at the end Also toilets.Bus from there to SF costs$5.50
