Tellers should know what can pass through customs and what may not. They made me place four music boxes in my bag. They are delicate and also there was no lock! I hope they make it to my country!
It is possible to overnight but be sure to get into the airport before midnight because after and till 0400 the door will be closed. Electricity plugs are available in front of check-in desk
Print out your hotelreservation confirmation and this will allow you to use tpg services into the city. Your hotel then gives you a city ticket for the duration of your stay.
Whoever invented the conveyer belt system at security needs a new job (but it's funny watching people trying to move all their trays round the corner!)
Found only 1 socket available. Between recycling station and an electric riser. On the left once you're past security checks. Just after the access to Prayer room. Just FYI ;-)
When you get access to free wifi, you have to have a cell phone to get password for login. However, only one Japanese carrier, SoftBank mobile can retrieve the SMS from the wifiauthentication server.
Not far from the city centre, easy train connection, fast security check, but large crowds of people. Keep in mind that the airport is very popular, expensiveduty free
Fast track security does not yet - January 2020 - have scanners that let you leave liquids in your cabinluggage. None the less fast track security is rapid.
small but functional airport. If you are planning to take the train out of geneva do get your ticket at the machine here to avoid lines at the station.
Small ... so quick to get through, otherwise old, tired, not enough seating and staff who have forgotten how to smile and treat you like a human. What you expect at most airports.
Airlinelounges are on an upper floor, most hidden away at the end of a long corridor. From BA Lounge to B32 allow 20 minutes and this assumes no delay at physical Schengen exit border point.
Huge airport. Departure and arrivals are at the same area. Don't follow the signs just ask the security, they will guide you if they speak english.Good luck
Don't forget to sign the AVAAZ petition to save Data Protection in Geneva : http://www.avaaz.org/fr/petition/Sauvez_la_protection_des_donnees_et_la_transparence_a_Geneve/
In the gate side, A side, no more ways to get an honest sandwich with real bread, no meat no cheese. The new bars are the worst in years and the one who stays, stopped selling sandwiches
Aerocar run a quick coach service from Geneva airport to Chambery and Genoble airport, reasonable pricing too e.g. return to Chambery from Geneva is €47 (2010). Easier than the train!
It is very small sector, if you are traveling with Air France you are departing from here. Do not leave any last thoughts on duty free for this moment. Only one magazine shop with some souvenirs.
