Picturesque villages surrounded by vineyards and splendid landscapes. No wonder that the Lake Geneva Region has attracted celebrities like Charlie Chaplin and Audrey Hepburn.
Its a cute lil airport for such an important city! You can get wifi using ur boarding pass, and can shop and have coffee. Don't be late to pick ur luggage as they are so fast in transferring
Has aged beyond its years but still manages to be practical and functional if not pretty. Lines at security can be long but service remains friendly. Retail and F&B options are very good.
If you want to go to downtown Geneva, pick your FREE train ticket after luggage claim, & hop to ANY train. They all have as their 1st stop Cointrin station, & it takes 7 mins, vs. 30 mins of the bus)
Nice airport with direct access transport (train and bus), food court available with good choices, wifi available, groceries and swiss restaurant (yes, cheese foundue)
One of the best airports ive ever been to. The people at the customs are very respectfull. The airport layout is very simple and straight forward without the unnecessary complications.
Don't buy bottled water here for your flight..it's a scandalous £3.50-£5 a bottle. It's cheaper onboard the plane!! (Easyjet £2/bottle for HarrogateSpringwater-& that's bad enough for a Yorkshireman!)
Whether by bus, boat or tram - in Geneva, there are a lot of sights to see. Let yourself be inspired and experience the city in a new way! More in the LH Travel Report Geneva.
Geneva Airport, a little big airport in a little big city. Find here the only Burger King in Geneva or if you're fancier and like a nice view, the altitude bar & restaurant is really nice.
In a bus to the terminal? Arriving from a non-EU or non-Schengen country? Stay close to the right hand side doors, preferably the middle ones: you'll be first out for passport control.
Number 5 bus goes to Intercontinental & close to the United Nations. It’s quite a walk from arrivals, go upstairs just before SBB Tkt office and you’re there. Get free 80 min tkt in baggage reclaim.
The airport itself is fine , you'll have everything you expect from a big airport, shops, restaurants, cafés. You won't get lost as everything is very well indicated. Come early for security checks.
Staff are super friendly. Loved the VIP treatment. Was escorted all the way from checkin desk to an exclusive lounge. See pics of lounge. Very private and comfortable.
The guy who invented the security check queue should get the Nobel price for the most unproductive innovation in the history of mankind. Be sure to take the priority lane.
If your flight is leaving from gate B make sure you do your souvenir purchase before leaving the main area (right after security). There is not much beside a coffee shop in gate B.
Free wifi is available once you scanned ur boarding pass @wifi machine (1 is located near departure gate C). Info porte A on departure gate info board means gate info will be available at (time)
Always take the right-most booth to enter security, it will force you away from the old school X-rays with slow lines to the faster scanners. Even if the line looks longer, it's always faster.
Sad news, no more free 80 min rail tickets as of January 1st 2022. Still only one ticket machine in baggage hall, plenty more in railway station. Ask your hotel about the free transport card instead
Don’t delay getting to baggage reclaim, they are super quick at transferring your luggage from the plane and it will be on the conveyor belt before you get to it. Also, food options reasonable.
Well only know the french part. Have a beer at the Wellnessbar and of course take a piece of delicious chocolate. When arriving take the free 2 hours public transport ticket at the machine.
Get the airport app, it allows you to track your flight and receive pushed notifications when your gate has been allocated together with approx time to get there, then again when flight ready to board
Goodie, the organic foodbar, has plugs and good unlimited WiFi. It's perfect for a coffee before you stroll 20 yards to Burger King for tofu free lunch.
If you are a transit passenger, you don’t have any chance to access to the main building. They are transferring you to a tiny area located in the aircraft parking zone. No smoking zone and no escape.
The most strange airport! If you need smth you should go through all gates to find what you want... You need time to find smth here! So be patient! Wish you luck!
if you need a last-minute-present sprungli is a classic. their luxemburgerleri are world famous and as light as air. and chocolate is not bad neither 😜
Quick, efficient, direct. Surely you can get long queues at peek hour. Exceptional: public transport connectivity to Geneva and the rest of Switzerland.
Go to Altitude above the shop and restaurant area in the departures section. Wonderful food with a view of the runway. Also does just drinks and coffee.
Love this airport. Very clean and organized. Helpul people. Free wifi. It's a bit too expensive, but so is mostly everything else in Geneva, so you what to expect.
Loved Payot book store next to Pret-a-Manger. A wide collection of travel guides in different languages, including rare regions (for European people) e.g. African countries
After checking in, don't muck about. Crack straight on getting airside as security and passport control queues can take an hour or more to get through during busy periods. Some food options airside.
Ask for Starbucks if you need wifi (arrivals hall). I faced problem to get a code for 30-minutes complimentary Internet access provided by GVA without working network.
One of my favorite airports. It's fast. In and out in 10 minutes. A bit more if you come from France because your luggage first gets presented on the French side of the airport before being sent to th
